Question ISO: Machina II, Virgin in-house promo set

I'm looking for the Virgin in-house promo set of Machina II.
I'm not looking for audio files, but for the original cd set itself.

Does anyone have this? If you might be willing to sell, please let me know.
Or does anyone know places where this is for sale maybe?

I'm looking for the US version in the first place, but you can contact me for a UK version as well.

Thank you.

I have both. Good luck finding the US. Rumored to be less than 15 of these around. The UK ones (pictured) are less rare, but still rare as fuck.

Again, gl.

Also, the complete UK set also consists of FAEOMM. Not just EP1-3

Are there iso's of these on the net. I would love to have a copy. Have these ever ended up on ebay?

I would be willing to buy a true set as well. I wonder what that would cost me?

A somewhat related request...

Can anyone upload the Machina II virgin promo? I've looked all over the place for it (oink, zomb, etc) and just can't find it. I know it's on the hub but I can't get the hub working...I think because i'm on a mac.

So someone please help me. If not for me then do it for yourself.

I like the SPIFC version the best too. I'm sure lots of people would disagree. I would love for a new needledrop to be done on really high end gear one day. Or better yet, an official release.

well till that day comes spifc is good enough for me. i have all 3 versions in my share, i just dont listen to the q101 version, ever. it was the first version that i ever grabbed in lossless and i always thought it sounded like ass. one good thing is it clipped, so billy probably liked it.

So these promos are vinyl sourced? Or are they from the original master tapes, like, I assume, the ones on the Greatest Hits?

no-one's really done the full out signal comparison yet, AFAIC, but ... i'll put it on my 'shit to do instead of sitting around lurking' list.

private torrent site. its on the hub, want me to hold your hand too?

after listening through the judas0 versions and the virgin promo versions, they're pretty similar, the judas0 versions are just mixed slightly higher in volume. the virgin promo still has some odd little clicks that sound vinyl in nature, that have either been cleaned up or aren't there on judas.

also, the spifc rip is still superior imo.

Does anybody still have that picture of his "wife" asking for more juice? That was high comedy.

What is the difference between the US and UK versions?

Are these legitimate? If so, Davin needs to get on the ball and update spfc.org.

uk versions are the ones you can see in this thread: in plastic sleeves, with simple inserts.

us versions come in jewel case with artwork. see www.spfreaks.com for more pictures of both.

i'm certain these are legitimate, that's why i'm looking for them.

Both the UK and US test pressings are sourced from the vinyl too, right?

Great, now I have to figure out which Machina II stuff I have is lossless. I get so confused. First time downloaders please note: Either go all lossless, or all mp3. Don't mix em, cuz you'll just end up like me. I have no idea what's going on.

So right now I'm still looking for the US set. If someone has it and would be ok with selling it for a lot of money, please contact me, so we can try to work something out. Thank you.

Hi Cool As Ice Cream, nice to see you again! This genuine US set is even more rare as 15, there are only 7 sets made. Maybe 8. As far as I know now they are vinyl sourced yes. The only copy ever been on sale (private sale, not on eBay or elsewhere) went for 300 US$ from the one owner to the other, about 3-4 years ago. I guess today the price could be double that, if you ever find a set that is. It is more rare as the genuine MII vinyl set, and just as rare as a genuine Mashed Potatoes set. Of course the prices of these last 2 releases are sky high compared to the MII US Virgin in-house promo's... But I meant numberwise! The only thing I can do is to wish you good luck and patience...

i remember shawn (collectspumpkins) was trying to sell a set a year or a couple of years ago. i contacted him recently, but he no longer had the set. he said my offer was "very fair and generous" though, which makes me believe i offered more than he sold it for.

and i find it hard to believe that there are only 7 or 8 sets made. i bought the first ep on ebay not so long ago. (for about $30. the seller didn't have any other parts of the set.) it would be a bit weird if that was one of the 8 ep's ever made.
