I recently found out the reason that like "Yuck! Brussels sprouts!" was the go-to joke for so many decades: they actually did fucking suck until the '90s

Part of the problem was that people didn't know how to prepare them, so yeah, folks would boil them into a nasty mush, but they were also just inherently incredibly bitter

We have, I am very sorry to say, the Dutch to thank for breeding a much better-tasting version, which is what you can buy today

during my ancestry.com free trial, i found out i am of german ancestry which makes a lot of sense. proud german-mexican right here! can't wait to go meet my people and bond over accordion music.

i love Brussels sprouts and ice cream but not together. mint (the herb) is good, but anything mint-flavored can f right off.

i found out that one of my favorite artists (carlos cortez) had a german mother and mexican father. i just thought he was mexican. i found an original linocut of his titled Das Bergische Gasthaus that was $100 and i was like 'yikes. that's a lot'. then one day it was gone
(i even contacted the site to double-check) and i was so pissed at myself for not buying it and now i can't even find a goddamn picture of it on the internet.

i will feel like that one day about this artwork that costs $550 on artsy.net.
$550 is downright reasonable tho considering some stuff on there is thousands and thousands and thousands of doll hairs.
