I too obtained a CD-R from the one and only Andrew Pakula in the late 90s. Felt like a brush with greatness.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the Lost thing. This place is Hydra Island. I have no idea how I got here. I don't know why I'm here. Each time I aim my browser here, I halfway expect it to just be gone forever. I don't know why Pakula (read: DHARMA) keeps the island running, but he does, so I'm here.

But seriously - wonder how much it costs him to keep the Island here annually?

For a guy who used to post every so often to go full radio silence and still pay the fees to keep it here is pretty cool.

This is an overly saccharine statement, but this forum is really an institution. Not just for self-deprecating Smashing Pumpkins fans, but also as one of the last bastions of forum culture. I have been a visitor of the site and a member of the forum since, what... 1999? I had a different username at the time and have never posted often, but this forum has brought me to tears with laughter. There are so many great inside jokes and personalities.

I am going to be disappointed if someone doesn't encourage me to go suck an LDS micropenis after writing that.

It* would be a real shame if Pakula got tired of dealing with the bullshit and decided that instead of spending $20 on hosting this month that he would be better off picking up a Greatest Hit on the Playstation Store.

If anyone is in touch with him, please let him know that Pumpkins Camp is offering Cash Rewards.
