We gently tried to have this talk with her once and she didn't want to hear it. That was about one week before she cut all her hair off and was hospitalized

My psych told me that I have a component of bipolar, but it's not enough to classify me as having it. For now I've just been listed as having moderate depression.

yes, but it's very difficult to come to that realization. i know i'm stating the obvious, but especially when people don't acknowledge their problems and go off the deep end, and the answer is medication to calm them down (quick fix) rather than exploring the problem through therapy (which is quite impossible sometimes, unfortunately), it just makes things difficult.

self awareness is so great. kind of sad i had to put myself through so much shit in order to get there.
