Starz is one ofthe greatest SP songs!
Don't know what ppl here talk about when they talk about disliking STARZ.
Fantastic track Great guitars and drum ideas, overall - GREAT! Sounds like old SP used too sound like. One of the strongest Zetgeist tunes that is strong enough to be on both MCIS or Adore. Together with Tarantula, United States and That's the way (my love is), (which remeinds me of Perfect in a lot of ways). Last edited by croPUMPKINS : 09-24-2007 at 12:07 PM. |

yeah, I can definitely see "Starz" being on Adore.
I bet Billy wrote it in 1997 and just didn't want to put it on Adore because he was saving it for the reunion. |

I agree with the OP! "Starz" is one of the best new SP songs and one of their best ever. It's too bad all of Z isn't more like it!

If a great song is ruined for you because the vocals aren't to your taste, then chance s are you are anal beyond belief. Worse still, you're quite possibly one of those 15-year-olds who thinks everything has to be polarised into 'perfect' or 'totally without merit'. That is so sad. Starz is an awesome song. The drums are amazing, the lyrics are nice, the guitar is cool. The vocals suit the song/lyrics. |

I like it a lot but it sounds nothing like Adore-era Pumpkins.

OKaaayyyyy..
I see that bein ilegable doesn't really prevent ppl using their PC. 'Strong enough to be', definatelly doesn't mean it was written back in '97, nnnoooooooo... It means that quality wise, certain songs have enough quality/depth/influence or just match to FIT on certain record. Everyone else, that means 5 or 6 people above and you DO know who you are (actually, anyone reading this board knows who you are), who thought that would mean that the songs was written back then and had a good laugh, BECAME a joke to the rest that had a good laugh. Perhaps you guys should take time off and learn to read. Or is it GMO foods that prevents you from understanding what your eyes read!? And yes, for your information it is a common thing that a band writtes a song that be compared to their previous work. I can actually draw parallels between following - That's the way = Perfect Starz = Bullet with butterfly wings Tarantula = Fuck you Just like Velvet Revolver Let it roll = Set me free She builds quick machines = Slither Last fight = Fall to pieces Comments from people who respect other ppl's oppinions are always welcomed. Comments from pricks that enter the threads that don't apply to them, but come here just for the purpouse of bashing, I just can't be bothered. The fact they do so, despite the fact they have nothing nice or affirmative to say, says enough about them, their inteligence or maturity. Just sad to see that the people here are the strangest bunch of weirdoes that call themselves 'fans'. I have NEVER seen a music board where 'fans' bash other fans as much, where 'fans' compete in bashing band members and calling them names... All that name calling on D'arcy, James, Billy, Melissa, Billy boards... Hard to belive you are here because of the music that this people had made. Funny you actually think of yourself as of fans who respect the work this people had/are making. Really, really sad. Why don't you make the normal part of the board happy and go and spread your negativity on Star trek or some other forum, ok? Last edited by croPUMPKINS : 09-24-2007 at 12:34 PM. |

Indian Summer = A Design For Life Send Away The Tigers = Elvis Impersonater: Blackpool Pier Winterlovers = La Tristesse Durera But yeah, I like Starz. OK, the "We are Stars!" refrain is cheesy and the title smacks of Billy tring to be "street" but the song is what the Pumpkins are all about for me: Blatantly restrained verses just gagging to explode into hard rocking choruses, all done in Eb tuning. It'd be a bit preposterous to say it's one of my favourite Pumpkins songs ever, but definetly one of the best on Zeitgeist. |
