Default Funny The Things You Miss

I've seen a lot. Never saw this.

Also makes me sad. I remember waiting on the Hub and here for shows to drop. To hear what it sounded like.

Listening to that moment around 24 minutes, it is amazing the complete 180 Billy has done and how petty he is now. He used the reissues to shit all over the rest of the band and tell the world it was all him. Now no one has any real connection with Billy in his "band" and his music is crap. Way to go, Bully Boy.

He says D'arcy is the strongest person in the band and James is the most sensible lol.

Totally agree. Moreover, July 18 1998, Adore hadn't bombed yet, those were the last days with SP at the top of their game. Fuckin hell, i need a tissue...

Best version of Perfect ever starts at 11:00 in that clip in case you're interested to see that 24k gold nugget.

What a touching moment, though. Great share. I've seen this interview before and love the performance, but somehow that sound bite about his partners hasn't ever resonated.

Although the quote about D'arcy and James is nice, I would argue that - other than that brief moment - it is one of the interviews that best shows why they really were not happy at that point and probably needed to take a break. You have James looking completely disinterested (more than usual), D'arcy literally rolling her eyes at the bullshit Billy spouts, and Billy asking D'arcy if she will "behave" in regards to the P. Diddy question. Not to mention the cringe of Billy making an awkward joke about the fact that D'arcy and James used to fuck.

The best part appears in the unedited version of the show. One of the audience members asks if they still talk to Jimmy. James audibly groans and Billy shouts "I will not answer any questions about Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, or Jimmy Chamberlin" and then growls at the person who asked the question.

HAHAHAH Let's take a video clip from 20+ years ago and masturbate over that nostalgia.

This forum, I swear to christ, is stuck in the past...

I don’t know. James looked pretty disinterested in the majority of their interviews even before that. If anything, the most James ever spoke highly of the music they ever made was during the Adore era. I’m sure they all needed a break, but they probably needed a break after Gish, too.

FWIW a friend of mine interviewed A Perfect Circle once, it was James+one other member and apparently James didn't say a word, dead silent throughout the whole interview. It's just his attitude.

it's a decent strategy that's paid off. doesn't ruffle anyones feathers, got a gig in aother big band. knows his place. Bands with a bunch of hot-shots always explode.

"jimmy got sad that I cut my long hair just as his was getting long?? ummm.. I dunno. I think he'll be ok"

I don't know why but I was genuinely excited to hear an unreleased track called "Funny The Things You Miss" when I clicked on this thread. I don't even know what era that kind of title would fit into, but. Damn. What we could have had...

sounds like a studio outtake working title from the first 2 album eras (i.e. "Why Am I So Tired?")

There was a fake Identify demo? I thought that was confirmed to have been real? Or maybe I’m thinking of another track.

Shit, man, I dunno

I mean I'm not making up the guy who could do a great imitation of Billy's voice, and faked some kind of demo, am I? I can't figure out a good way to search for this, here or on Google

Entirely possible I'm misremembering it as Identify but I swear there was this guy, see

FUCK

There was definitely a guy who faked a couple of “Mellon Collie era” instrumental demos, but no vocals in those.

And there was also that stretch when people thought the One and Two with Billy on vocals instead of James was faked, but that was confirmed real as well:

the "fake" Pale Scales track that was/is floating around is so damn good & convincing I not only thought it was real for a long time, but even upon finding it was not legitimately the Pumpkins still kept it on my Machine playlists & whatnot

hehe!
