let's be real, Machina has an extremely niche market. I had a coworker who was like hardcore into the Pumpkins, and particularly Machina. Weird, I know. The man also worse Limp Bizkit shirts to work, if that context helps. Anyway, said guy was not really aware of Machina II, and certainly unware of the mythos surrounding the originally planned triple album thingy, the reworked tracklists, fan remasters, etc.

All of this is to say, if that guy doesn't care about a Machina rework, I don't really know who does outside of this weird pocket of the internet. And that is why they REALLY need that vinyl, because the profit margin of a vinyl, especially the 8-Vinyl Super Special Macchu Picchu Obelisk Tea Set, is probably the only way to break even, and they know many of us shitheads will pay for it.

Universal would rather use the limited resources due to the vinyl demand to press new artists they know will sell rather than reissue a multi-record boxset for a failed older album from 20+ years ago. They're in no rush to put this thing out. And, honestly, is anyone really that surprised?
