must spread rep
i wouldn't even care about a digital perfect version now. it'll sound wrong after the grit for years if you like stuff, it's better long term to just teach yourself to enjoy/appreciate shitty sounding tracks |

I feel like I'm losing my fucking mind here. If I go into the "Machina reissue a go" thread, I'm gonna find 160 pages of people going "Boy I'm excited about this reissue and the fact that Billy has said over and over that he's going to redo the whole thing into the way he envisioned it, meaning what we have now is not what he intended, but I think we can all agree we don't want him to do anything whatsoever to the M2 tracks but I'm still excited even though it's patently obvious that if he's going to combine M1 and M2 in a different way, there's going to be some reworking to have the sounds fit"?

Probably in my top 5 favorite guitar solos by Billy. I tried to learn it way back when, but it’s pretty harry! Chord combo is kinda nuts too and really shouldn’t work, but the vocals tie it all together. Plus JC doing his thing! Amazing song and hope they don’t fuck it up on the reissue!

i don't care what billy intended
i like machina 2 the way it was released at the time, regardless of his intentions then or now billy has been vaguely blueballing us about the reissue for so long, no one knows for certain what form it will take, so some fans fill the void with their imaginary dream tracklist and alterations, as we tend to do. i personally can't be bothered making wishful speculations, even if there weren't delays whatever form it does take when it's finally released in the year 3000, I'll still have the original rips and I can still listen to those if I don't like the reissue |

It just seems like nearly everyone in this thread is arguing that M2 is perfect as-is, and I've always thought that the board in general was pro-Billy-reworking-them-for-the-reissue P.S. Is it me or is it fucking impossible now to find GIFs you can link to directly or even download directly, like fuck Giphy and Tenor and now it seems like Tumblr is doing it too, fuck everyone, free the GIFs, free the internet, fuck everyone again |

I have no beef with y'all, I'm just really confused why I don't feel like I've seen this groundswell of "don't change it" opinions, but this may very well be me mostly reading the reissue thread with the express purpose of making sick burns against Billy and the unlikelihood of it ever coming out
Personally I'd like him to take things a bit farther than Shad would, like I'd love to hear a much clearer version of "Real Love," although I also like it well enough the way it is and, in a way, appreciate that part of the charm there is how "distorted" it is (I don't have the right word for it) Like I've always loved Sparklehorse's "Happy Man" on Good Morning Spider, but I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was to find out about "Happy Man (Memphis Version)" where you can hear it much more clearly. I wouldn't delete the GMS version from the universe or something and I still listen to both |

As I recall on the reissue mix of Blank there was actually reverb added to the song. I think it sounds better personally.
I like the song, but I’ve always found it to be the only Pumpkins song that is so utterly joyless that it’s almost kinda funny. |

Slow dawn is one of the songs that does not sound that baked by RBQ. That is why it was on the judas O cd.

Slow Dawn is amazing. Untitled sounds like Zwan. It doesn’t sound like SP. That’s the issue. It was also the first appearance of his terrible new vocal phrasing and the “feelalo” type shit.

It sounds like a MSotS song to me. That artificially upbeat and peppy vibe that most SP never had. It didn’t come across as a particularly poignant way to send off the band either. Shallow track.
