Personally, I was more excited about Joe Flacco starting in Baltimore, not looking terrible and getting a win. He's a former Blue Hen (like me), you don't see many of those in the NFL and when you do they never stick around. I'm not saying he'll be the next Rich Gannon but he might not end up in the AFL.
Who could forget those hideous powder blue and yellow uniforms from the Detroit game. I realize that the Eagles blew away a poor Rams team, but at the same time, they shut down the two bright spots on that offense. Steven Jackson had a rather pedestrian day... and Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown were strong in coverage on Torry Holt.

That's a good warm up for Terrell Owens and Marion Barber next week... though Dallas clearly has a better offensive line than St. Louis.

Dude, he's done. It's pretty damn easy to tell when your ACL is snapped in half.

My fantasy team is horrid.

Well clearly neither the Cowboys or Eagles faced a real test in their games today. Next weeks game should be good and cowboys have the advantage of it being at home. The teams match up really well and they are most likely the two best teams in the NFC. The Eagles are going to pressure Romo and cause him to make some mistakes, and the Cowboys are going to pressure McNabb and cause some bad throws.

They're going to have to pressure McNabb to have a chance at a win. I thought for sure the Browns/Cowboys game was going to be an air attack with two poor secondaries on the field, but the Browns just couldn't get it going.

And who would be better?

Eagles can have one of the best defenses in the league this season, and their offense will always be a threat as long as Westbrook is healthy.

i really do have to wonder how much of that was actual proficiency on the bears part, and what was severely lacking in the colts.

but either way, IT WAS FUCKING SWEET.

confident QB + stud rookie running back (okay stud is stretching it) + defense that can step it up a bit over last year and stop the run = football season that may not be so bad for Bears fans

outside chance at wildcard?

what a fantastic start to their season. I hope their morale is ruined.

i just thought i'd remind banana03 that every other team in their division made the playoffs except for the eagles, who through magic and fairy dust are now one of the best 2 teams in the conference

orton has no reason to be confident. he'll figure that out soon enough.

the colts looked worse than they've looked in years. wtf was that? i feel a tiny bit better about the bears, but i still don't know if i see them doing any better than 7-9.

We were a good team last year, lost some games last year on some very bad plays, like the muffed punt in game 1. We weren't far from having a vastly different record than 8-8.

McNabb is healthy and finally looks good. LJ Smith is healthy and finally looks good. Westbrook is one of the top players in the NFL and I think he's going to make a run for MVP this season. DeSean Jackson looks like an absolute steal in the draft. I'd like to see what he can do against a better defense so the Dallas game will be a nice test for him. DeSean Jackson and Quintin Demps are two rookies that instantly make our return game great. Our return game has always been a huge weakness in our team for quite a few seasons now, but it's suddenly become a big strength of ours.

I feel that ever since the first Championship game loss to the Rams in 01 the defense has been on a slow steady decline. It's pretty much rebuilt now and with the exception of Dawkins, it's young. Our defense has the chance to be great this season and I feel it will definitely be the strength of our team and cause us to be a very difficult team to beat. Our dline, although small, is very fast and can get penetration. Our linebackers are big and fast. For once our linebackers aren't a weakness on our defense. They aren't known on the national level because they all are very young, but they've shown they can play. And of course we have what can be the best secondary in the league.

I look around the NFC and the Eagles and Cowboys are just on another level than the rest of the teams in the NFC. It's going to come down to those two.
