Does anyone have any idea what he's saying in the choruses? All I can make out is "just because"

now i am dissapointed that he didn't add some elephant noise like in the mercury tree of tears but the retarded masses need their little "rock" fix i guess :shrug smiley:

This song kicks down your front door, pisses on your carpet, sneers at you while it knocks over all of your shit, shoots your 60" HDTV and shoves a cannister of nerve gas up your ass.
Then it makes you a mai tai, sits you down with a swirly straw, gives you a back rub while playing some Barry White and then breaks the glass over your head and leaps through the roof while your house collapses. |

Does anyone know if the song was edited for radio play? It seemed like the softer outro part with the phased vocals would have been a great way to end the song, and I was really surprised it didn't go on longer. If it had, this would have been a really great song.
As it stands, I like the song a good bit: Pros: The guitar sounds absolutely spine-crushing, the drums are incredible, good guitar interludes, the outro is neat. Cons: Corgans vocals still sound a bit bubbly and gay (even though they are eons better than Zwan or TheFutureEmbrace), the lyrics are a little suspect at points, the cheese-factor in the chorus is a bit much |

I feel all these things at once. They throw so many great ideas into the one song and it's all tied together with that fucking amazing chorus!!! |

This is Billy's best studio effort since at least 2000. The only thing I think that even comes close to touching it in the past 7 years is MSOTS (the song). I was always optimistic that there was gonna be some good stuff on Zeitgeist, but this surpasses my expectations easily. This is gonna be a fun song to play LOUD. |

It's just one extreme instead of another - I feel in that Billy made awesome quiet part shorter his fear of past. Because with Zwan he usually took great melodic hook and made a song from it, and it basically ruined that hook, because what is great for 10 sec interlude can be repetitive and boring for whole song. So I think he understood that and shortened each part of the song to the point where you can't understand what's going on.
By the way the song reminded me of Chrysanthemum. Anyway the song's really great. I think it stands right in row of pumpkins' singles. |

This song fucking rocks! I hope the rest of the album has the same energy that this does. My only complaint is the vocals. I don't think Billy sounds bad or anything, I just think they're a little too high in the mix, but maybe they'll sound better in a decent quality rip.
I almost gave up all hope after that shitty 30 second clip was unveiled (which was a poor representation of the song as a whole), but now I'm excited about this album more than ever! |

I don't like it. The vocals blow, and it just seems way to clustered.

holy shit. i personally believe 90% of what billy has written since adore has been crap. and he's justifies his giving into indulgence by saying things like "i'm an artist, i can't sell out, i can't go back to old sounds, i'm just ahead of my time" etc so i am REALLY shocked at this. . this makes me really really happy. unbelievable. this is SO... wow.

the 30 second clip didn't do the whole song justice. Its way better than i expected and rocks out like crazy but i do think its all over the place at times and heavier than what I tend to like. Also, Billy's voice is missing the angst I love.
the BEST part of the song is when billy stops singing and then starts again but softer..near the end maybe at about 3mins..but its way too short... all in all, I'm excited for the rest of the album! |

Like I said in the other thread, the song was about a minute of filler at the end. It tries to hard to RAWK, and the lyrics are horrible. In otherwords, a perfect recipe for a good radio single.
The only thing that was pumpkiny about the song was jimmys drumming, nothing else. Billy could have written that as a zwan song. |

and not only does this sound like hello kitty kat or something but it accomplishes the task at hand - making MCR and silversun pickups look like total morons in comparison.

Man if Billy had given some angst on it or some snarl with some feeling just think what the song could of been. I love it but if I had heard some feeling..a bit like what he did sometimes on Spilled Milk or live Pumpkins that would of been awesome

the bullshit solos remind me of untitled...untitled was better in being a beatles send up. this is just bull shit though. its sounds alright but the lyrics and direction of the song are lame. transitions are bad. probably their worst single....but it still rocks a bit, looking forward to the other songs.
