Dark Angel's 'Darkness Descends' > Slayer's 'Reign In Blood'
it's absolutely criminal that of all the thrash metal albums that came out in the 80's (and there were a shitload of 'em), people constantly name Reign In Blood as one of the top releases.. yet 1/10th of those people probably never heard this album, which came out the same year.

ALTHOUGH i haven't listened to all of dark angel's record i must say slayer sounded a lot more furious to me.
plus i prefer araya's vocals but that's subjective. |

I listen for the music, but yeah.. Tom's a better singer. but Reign In Blood is pretty much all about two songs: Angel of Death and Raining Blood.
it's a damn good thing that album's so short. |

you know, i think thats part of its charm.
its like a short, brutal outburst thats just that, you know. definitely not the best metal album ever, or even best thrash metal album ever. can you recommend good dark angel tracks? im gonna give it another shot |

Darkness Descends (see if you can notice something similar to Metallica's 'One', which was on an album they released in 87, a year after this Dark Angel album)
Merciless Death Black Prophecies Perish in Flames there, that's a little more than half the album. |

That guitar solo that the guy from Slayer does is pretty bitchen.

just useless noise, although appropriately ferocious.. it could pass for a few songs but the problem is all the solos on all the songs sound precisely the same when you listen to the song and it comes youre like just waiting for it to end and for the song to continue |
