:/

it's a such a bummer to realize people make it that far in life and still end up killing themselves. i have this stupid hope that once you make it past [name the decade you are currently in], then you're home free

seriously though, these last few years have been brutal.

it sucks hearing about so many other people who became so successful with their music, and how even that couldn't keep them around. life is fucking hard, for everyone.

It's so true. Even somebody like him - who I would assume has a solid amount of cash flow still. Never was a big Prodigy guy, but those singles were far from the worst thing on the radio back in 1996 when I was always listening to the radio in hopes of hearing SP.

We're losing SO MANY of these 90s people - the list keeps getting shorter and shorter.

I am a HUGE Prodigy fan, been following them since 1993. This hit me pretty fucking hard. They inspired me to produce electronic music. I've been a part of a couple of well known Prodigy fan communities and have participated in music competitions held to pass time between albums. Over the years my music grew a little following amongst fans and I guess it got the attention of Prodigy producer/songwriter Liam Howlett. In early 2016, Liam reached out to me online in regards to my last album that he really liked and called it "heavy." He even mentioned the opportunity for us to collaborate and gave me his info to send stuff over. To have the guy who inspired me to make music tell me he likes my albums and wants to work together was a frigging out of body experience. My brain couldn't quite grasp it. We've been chatting ever since about music gear, music, and life. He is a really cool guy. I even helped out in them finding some venue options in NYC. I was on the guestlist for the NYC shows in May and was gonna meet the band and Liam was bringing me a record. When the news of Keith's death hit, I had that same out of body experience. I grew up following these guys as they went from underground rave act to a worldwide success. I am absolutely fucking gutted and can't believe I won't get the chance to give Keith a hug and tell him I love him.

I put this petition together when Emily Eavis spoke to NME just after the news of Keith's death and said they were booked to play Glastonbury 2019. It has already surpassed 1700 signatures...

Keep The Prodigy's slot & broadcast their 1997 Glastonbury performance at Glastonbury 2019

Dear Emily Eavis and Glastonbury Festival,

You spoke with NME and stated that The Prodigy were booked to perform at Glastonbury 2019 before the untimely death of band member Keith Flint. To honor Keith and the band, we the fans request you to keep their booking and use their slot to broadcast their legendary 1997 performance for the audience to experience. Keith was an immense figure, a genuine kind soul, whose presence will be greatly missed. We the fans would like to honor him and we hope Glastonbury 2019 would honor him with us.

Signed,
The Prodigy Fan Community*

Keith Flint's funeral was held on Friday, March 29th and the band invited fans to join the procession.

I'm also a member of a well known Prodigy fan community known as Brainkiller and a few of the more hardcore members and myself have a little group called Snooping Basterds. We made this poster and wrote our names and a local member left it at the church for us. My name is in the bottom right corner...
