are you joking? the one time i saw them live was easily one of the most disappointing shows i've ever been to. it was so bad compared to the album

I was kind of feeling that way but the alcohol helped. So many of their songs sound the same, I genuinely like a few of them but overall it really didn't turn me on much. The bass and drum playing was especially boring, nearly the same with every song they played.

apparently perry farrell's djing some party on one of the nights and i would love to go to that. my friends were also thinking of showing some canadian support and going to the BSS after party

I went to Thao with The Get Down Stay Down tonight at a place in Portland called the holocene (pronounced hollow scene). I'm not sure if I can recommend them, for one the show was really pretty short, I don't think they have a lot of material. Also the music did prove they have their own style, but it was pretty similar throughout. Thao was rocking out pretty hard though and was friendly.

The crowd was just fuckin' ridiculous though, 90% hipster kids who were offended at the idea of moving their bodies. I mean I don't move around that much, but they were intentionally standing a still as possible, fuck people like that.
