yea but slow dawn doesnt really solve any problems that are created by the weakest m1 songs in my opinion... it has the same cadence as the machina1 version of bsbt just less glittery |

To me it’s good b/c it feels exactly like when u get up so blurry from busy nites and the coffee is ass and your windshield is dirty but u got no fluid and u driving to shitty work in the cold of leftover winter but then the sun comes up peeking so golden between the houses of your neighborhood, shining thru the naked trees onto that spattered dusty windshield, and it comes in the car with u, and then u think fuck mom this my favorite band

So what we’re saying is if the sequence went
Slow Dawn Vanity Saturnine Real Love Go LMGTWTY Innosense Home M2 would have the best stretch of songs on any SP record? (I disagree, but I do think it’s hella strang) |

M2 Saturnine is a nope from me, dawg.
And Innosense is… ok. Sequence needs Speed Kills, BSBT (Bouncy) and L13. |

I stand by what I said.
The Pieces argument is good, but Hello Kitty Kat is a beast and it clearly destroys the other 2 songs on that list. LMGTWTY is a soft pop song and belongs on no list even tho everyone considers it so great because he never plays it live or whatever. Fuck that song. Never liked it. SD has too many classics to be considered. I'd say the entire album from beginning to end works. Again, all solid songs, so it's null and void. I'll review MCIS, but probably falls into the same category as SD. The Night Side, or whatever the F it's called, is probably the best place to start. |

Even though poster above said this opinion is null and void, SD from start to finish is the strongest stretch of songs. Particularly the obvious trinity of Soma Geek Mayo. As interesting and beloved as MCIS is to me, it is quite disjointed without as solid of a run of 4-5 songs like that. I also really enjoy the trio of SIYL, I of the Mourning and Sacred and Profane. Those are some of my quintessential Machina tracks. Life is easier if I separate Machina 1 & 2 into separate entities when I pick favorites from them.

Try alternative is better than try on m1.... Vanity, slow dawn, speed kills, saturnine, dross, let me give, go, home, innosense, if there is a god( band) and try alt...... Jesus those songs are top tier.... And i really like m2 more than overproduced m1

It’s a long standing myth in the fandom that Try Alternate is better than the M1 version.
Here’s the cold hard facts: Nee-naw nee-naaaaw Nee-naw nee-naaaaw is grating as fuck. M1 Try is better. |

Try Alternate is my favourite Pumpkins song alongside Age of Innocence. It hurts to see it lambasted so. The only SUBSTANTIAL leg up Machina Uno Try has over the other is the AND WE RRRRRR STILL ALIVE - that bit was like being pulled up into my attic by me tighty whities when I first heard it. |

The Machina bonus track version of Speed Kills is not mid. Great song and that’s the best version.

mike garson's performance on the adore tour (1998) brings me the same level of emotional nirvana as jimmy chamberlain's drumming on mellon collie & the infinite sadness (1995)
