I legit asked him if he was trying to find me on here years ago. It's when I realized trying to explain Netphoria to a normal person is really freakin' sad.

I also have the metro 1993 purple vinyl bootleg and that one actually sounds really good. Its better than having to pay $130 for a reissue siamese dream vinyl that originally sold for $25.

Again, I’d pump some money on a digital or CD release of this… on all of these archive releases, but I’m not paying the premium and buying a record player.

I saw this on my fb deed this morning and impulse bought it

Then had buyer's remorse like 30 seconds later

This is a band with at least three "Volume 1" releases on the board, and not one "Volume 2".

The cover art looks horrible. You expect fans to pay $80 USD (more than I have paid for any LP ever) and you get this anachronistic image that has nothing to do with the period of the band or even the "brand" if this is something he claims to care about. Its a cheap looking, clip-art cover. It evokes NOTHING.

Since it seems intended as a "fuck you" to me as an individual, I want to take this time to address Billy directly for not including Spiteface on this: No, fuck you

This would've been a much better cover image. They used this photo in the Zuzu's mailer.

I'm shocked these reissues don't even come with liner notes. Like it could be a piece of white paper with some context from billy on it, instead we just get a generic note that says "this is an imperfect bootleg but we hope you like it"

and this new one isn't even soundboard - they literally say it's just a guy making an audience recording. the others have sounded so dead and sterile (like IEM feeds) that this might actually be a good thing

Also I'm familiar with both of the pressing plants used to make the past two releases. I realize this is a dead horse but there's absolutely no reason why these can't cost 30-40 USD. I'd snatch this up for 40 but 80? lol. Going forward it's going to have to be something really special for me and pre-Gish material ain't it.

Much superior pre-Gish heavy songs: Razor, East, C'mon

For me, the entire point of Spiteface is its potential to enrage the audience, so this is a very sane response

My guess: It's clear the photographer would need to be paid for that image, whereas the old-timey thing on the cover likely came off an old postcard or some shit and he figures he can get away with not tracking down whoever would require compensation for it

Non signed edition already sold out. Gonna call the shop to see if there are any leftovers there.

I hate how lazy Billy has become with everything he is involved with now. These releases do not invoke any feelings of the original band at all. No liner notes, Google Images, community college art degree...

Yes!!!! We should coordinate a group on here to call the store endlessly asking about the vinyls. Like I do it everyday at 2pm, you do it at 2:15. Someone else 2:30 etc. so they get barraged with calls all day.

We can do it like the Jerky Boys too. “Yeah, this is frank rizzo. Where’s my frickin record?” Or, ...”this is Kerpal. Billy kicked my dog. I want to buy record? I love you”

Or, “pleeeaaase! This is Sol. SOL Rosenberg!!! Billy said to call. We used to dig for piss clams at high tide. Is he there? Please put him on the phone!”

The Smashing Pumpkins are now a revenue stream for National Wrestling Alliance and we're not seeing Machina until there's clear and present danger of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
