and tbh Jamiroquai aren't one either, i don't really "keep up" with them but they clearly have a sustained fanbase

Hey Brett, I've read your site for a long time and it's generally a fun visit! But don't you think you might be going just a little bit overboard with the clickbait lately? Your articles are getting a little bunk dude!

Obviously, but none of those bands were heralded endlessly by the music press or even music fans. Nobody was excited about those artists like the press and people were with Lorde, Animal Colective, Hosier, Goatye ETC

You're glossing over my main point, dummy. None of those acts were critically acclaimed.

That's the point I was making, doofus.

I share your sentiment. I revisited the Zwan album recently and was shocked at how terrible most of it is. Aside from 2 or 3 songs, it's utter garbage. I can't believe there was so many heavy hitters in that band and that that was the best record they could muster up.

So, my brother works in the music biz, and one of the bands he helps out with is Greta - at the first, I too had the whole "ehh, Zepp" thing that is the knee jerk reaction. It's undeniable. But after meeting the band and seeing them live, my opinion shifted. They really are just three brothers and another dude who are out on the road having a blast and playing straight rock. Super humble and kind guys.

The show was interesting, too - seemed like there were MANY people who were there with their parents, with kids ranging from their teens to folks in their 20s, 30s - with their parents twice their age. Not something you usually see at shows, which was cool to see the bond between two generations.

Plus, they were great live. As was said earlier here - far more solid and impressive live.

Studio version of this song is like 4 minutes, jam version here, gets you a better taste of the band's live stuff:

I can't start a new thread for some reason, here's the best (post-) grunge band today according to Billy

https://auralcrave.com/en/2019/01/24...-billy-corgan/

Halestorm, Deafheaven, Drab Majesty, Chelsea Wolfe, Cold Cave, Myrkur

This just in: thanks to Billy Corgan, Greta Van Fleet were able to qualify for a mortgage on a nice new band home.

Billy has garbage taste in music, and I'm almost certain he hasn't listened to any of those bands in earnest.

Yeah lets all run to the band where you want to bring your fucking parents. You are making a case for why it is so easy to hate them.

Some of those bands actually opened for the pumpkins before tho, like Myrkur and Drab Majesty – they are even part of Silvery video

Thumbs down

Not only the outfits were horrible at the Grammys this year.

Corgan would have fit perfectly with his green monster-suit and his Knights-of-Malta dress...

Greta Van Fleet is the Wolfmother of this decade and just like Wolfmother, all of their fans will forget about them when they turn 14
