Grand Theft Auto IV
http://xbox360.qj.net/150-Developers...g/49/aid/76343
If you are looking forward to Grand Theft Auto IV, then you are not alone. With the success of GTA San Andreas, and Vice City for the PS2, followed by PSP outings such as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the series seems to be headed in the right direction. Of course, for it to carry on the success which it has been enjoying since the launch of the original Grand Theft Auto title for the PSOne back in 1997, it takes a lot of constant improvements. The team down at Rockstar currently has all the resources that they would ever need, and with high-powered Xbox 360 and PS3 versions planned, around 150 developers will be working on GTA IV alone, according to analyst Mike Hickey, a financial consultant for Take-Two software. That's right, one hundred and fifty. Hickey said that Rockstar games and Take-two are "fully capable of ushering in an entertainment experience categorically superior to the prior cycle’s GTA product." With 150 developers, this game is bound to have a lot of content in it! Remember how large the map was back in San Andreas? Now imagine that map, but make it twice as big and add twice as much detail. That's how GTA IV is apparently going to be. |

This is true. I'm not a big gamer, but I love going around the city doing whatever the heck I want.

It would be cool if they could like take it to the next level and create a GTA: North America, however something like that would take forever to develop and probably would just be impossible to do.

Rarely, that is a pretty cool sentiment you just expressed, what an interesting take on all of this.

I was totally excited about GTA IV a while ago but since I got my wii I'm not actually that fussed at all :/
A FOAF of my brothers works at rockstar HQ and does scenery design or some shit on the gta games. He was saying that apparently in San Andreas they were planning to make it kinda like the Sims, that you could buy furniture etc for your house, but they decided to leave it out, so that may come into it. I'm also expecting skateboards after Bully. |

they really should make it in the 1800s with horses, or in space, or both.

But yeah those PS2 GTAs I played very little, I went on killing sprees a few times and got bored but the vastness is still pretty insane. I agree the next one should be way different in some way, GTA in space sounds sweet. |

I played GTA 1 back in the day. 2 was awesome cause of the multiplayer (which no one knows about). I never bothered with 3. Vice city was cool while it lasted (too short of a game even with all the collectibles and junk I got bored after the missions) and I never bought San Andreas. I don't think I'll get IV either. Maybe I'll pirate it late down the track.

The multiplayer in 2 was absolutely pish, i remember we set it up at a lan at my brothers and within minutes it was off in favour of quake 2
The sheer level of free roam in san andreas means it crushes all the others by a mile. If they could bring out a well made batman begins themed game with gotham half that size id be drooling. |
