Default i dropped a vinyl record on my foot today

doesn't sound like much. slipped out of the sleeve while i was putting it in the protective polymer sleeve.

right onto my foot. 180 grams falling about 5 feet directly onto that area of skin on my big toe between the knuckle and the nail

the nail is like 1/3 black.

who has had experience with this? will i have to endure several weeks of pain while my toe nail rots off?

nah man, the pain will subside soon. the black nail, however, will remain.

you could push a needle through it to relieve some pressure. my dad used to have a teeny tiny drill bit that would work for nails under all that pressure...i did it once and it felt better after!

hey, this was a thread asking for some medical advice, not a solicitation for your backwoods witchdoctor crap.

at least you didn't tell me to dab some whiskey on it an tie it to a doorknob.

I hate to say it, but I was going to recommend the same thing. I've done it before and it's awesome.

And I have St. Augustine grass.

see, kristin fits the profile of the nefarious type who would have bermuda grass.

but despite her suggestion having garnered the support of a st augustine grass supporter, im still going to have to say no to jabbing spinning drill bits and bobs into me big toe.

It doesn't hurt. If it starts to swell you definitely need to do it. I'll be in O-town in a few weeks. I'll stop by and help you out. I'll bring my 18v Hammer Drill and 7/32 bit.

a sewing needle would work silly. don't be such a chicken

i've had PLENTY of blood blisters under my nails, and that's the best way to fix them. otherwise it's just going to throb until the blood dries/clots.

i'm not nefarious this year.

well you have to inch it down (like a cork screw) just be gentle and then twist it a little til you feel it give. i'd ice the toe too if its that bad. you should feel a lot of relief just from a little hole, but you can always make it bigger later

you're gonna have to show pictures of this.

6 months that's not good.

when i had them i never lost my nail except for one on my toe that split it. i think a can of something fell out of the pantry on my toe that hurt like i broke it! either way, to get rid of the pain you do that needle thing, an the nail will fall off and grow back just as long as you keep it clean and don't get it infected.

well if you can get rid of pain, why not?

but seriously it's still black? that's sounds like a clotting problem, scary.

it won't hurt for so long. i had one once, i can't remember how long it took but i'm positive that the nail eventually detached itself and a new one replaced it. it never even felt awkward.

you dont lose the nail simply by pushing a sewing needle through it to relieve the pressure.

and you run the risk of damaging tissue and infecting it simply by scratching your skin every day. moot point.

wHATcOLOR is an anti-Asian. He puts shoes on when he enters the house and takes them off while galavanting around the SF Bay area.
