Since this thread diverted, even just temporarily, into a SF59 thread, it made me recall this story:

My buddy and I attended a SF59 concert in San Francisco, sometime around 2002-03 or whenever "Leave Here a Stranger" was released. He was an OG SF59 superfan, and at the time, I was a tagalong who only got into them after the hearing She's the Queen blasting in his '88 CRX... but I digress.

After the concert he finds Jason Martin to introduce himself and tell him he's a huge fan. So huge that he paid $300 on eBay for #1 print of 500 for the 7" The Drop EP... only for Jason to tell him, "They're all printed as #1."

To this day we're both passively Starflyer 59 fans. Much like SP, SF59 changed their sound dramatically after their first few releases, but we still tune in to see if they recapture that magical shoegaze rock.

No, not much like SP. SF59 still puts out high quality releases. Check out Sunrise and New Guitar off their newest record…. Extremely choice material for 25+ years into a discography

I think it’s cuz they stopped playing live many years ago. I would take any newer starflyer album over anything after machina II all day every day
