Oh and as for Grizzly Bear....they were good. I enjoyed them more when they opened up for TV on the Radio with 400 people in a small club.

as the intro to climbing up the walls i thought they played the intro to a reminder so i thought i was going to die. still climbing up the walls itself was pretty fucking awesome.
the rain was pretty awesome too. it poured for about an hour and a half without stopping. |

i've seen them play that. my suspicions about this tour have been completely confirmed -- i really didn't need to go this time. they're just not playing anything that i haven't seen that would justify paying the price that the tickets have crept up to over the years (yes, they're not _THAT_ bad and the prices have gone up a lot slower than some other bands, but still).
i like climbing up the walls and such, but i'm not sure how excited i could get about seeing it considering i've seen them play it six times. i suppose it's more interesting to me that i've been to two shows where they actually didn't play paranoid android. ..still waiting for true love waits, though. |

explosions has their place. but its too bad that in order for them to do anything really different, they need to start new bands. release after release sounds exactly the same or a continuation of where it left off, still sounding pretty much the same. same can be said for plenty of other "post rock" *hackgagspitcoughpuke* bands like godspeed, mogwai (to an extent, though i am impartial because i'ma fanboy), mono, etc, etc, etc. but it would be a shame if they were the epicenter of your musical world.

I think it would be a shame if they were the centre only after the initial "puppy love" phase. then reality hits you...and you get really sick of it.

I was at the Camden show. I was disappointed in Videotape since it was the album version and not like the live versions they've done with guitars added to it. The Bends was amazing and the best song of the night. In fact all of the songs off of The Bends were the best songs performed.
