Default Today marks a significant milestone anniversary for a significant release by SP

The time has just flown by, but already it has been a whole 8 years, 6 months, 1 week and 2 days since the song "Widow Wake My Mind" was released, as part of the unprecedented and absolutely groundbreaking Teargarden by Kaleidyscope series.

Feel free to use this thread to share your memories of when the song first entered your life and how it has changed you for the better.

The greatest performance of the song, complete with a James Iha diss.

Say what you will about the song, but that guitar solo fucking slays. The whole performance sounds better than when the actual band played it live a few months later.

LOL I love this thread

By the way, did Billy ever explain why he spelled it "kaleidyscope"? Like, did he pronounce the word weird like ("KAL-LIED-DEE-SCOPE" or something) or say that he thought the word had one too many "o"s in it? I've also wondered this about why he spelled "mayonnaise" wrong. Though to be fair, I've never understood what purpose the second "n" in that word serves.

my guesses:

"dys" kinda like "dystopia" ... the prefix means ill, distorted, etc

mayonaise... honestly think he just misspelled it originally and by the time he was told/realized he pretended it was joke

Ah, good guess on "dys". And you're probably right about Mayonaise, haha.

"Lovely", how the (Corgan-)accurate SP-freaks constantly ignore to mention D'arcy Wretzky in their history hashtags:

Siamese Dream- Released 25 years ago today (7.27.93), Siamese Dream remains one of the most influential and consistent works in rock and roll history. The US vinyl pressing spans a wide spectrum of color variations, from purple to maroon, and red to hot pink. However, the UK vinyl pressing was exclusively black. How did this multicolor version that combines black, red, and blue swirls come into existence? That remains a mystery, but we know it is from the UK and, so far, is the only one of its kind. A well-deserved happy birthday to an equally diverse and mystifying album! 'The multi-color edition was my idea. So I'm guessing they made it, but whomever never sent it for approval.' -William Patrick Corgan #smashingpumpkins #williampatrickcorgan #jimmychamberlin #jamesiha #siamesedream #1993
