Thought the same. Looked at a photo of the selection at a show and couldn't find one that I would buy.

The hat is cool and I’ll probably get one. Those shorts though…who wants a picture of a bunch of aging men on the front?

Anyone have a pic of the hat? I just saw the awful shirts that looked like a cross between NWA Wrestling and an aging metal band.

shirt C is the only good one

holy FUCK those prices. aren't they a big band that doesn't need to gouge like that?

but like even small indie bands would respect fans more than to charge $45 for a t-shirt i think

even at half price i'm not sure i'd buy anything

At those prices, those shirts better come with some 2012 Vintage Silver Needle Pu-Erh loose tea.

I like the 80s metal look of the witch t-shirt.

But I wouldn't spend $45 on it.

Primarily because I don't live in the USA.

Question

What's a reasonable price for a tour shirt these days? Or at least one you'd pay with a little grumbling? I haven't been to a show since the 'VID hit. What are y'all seeing out there? $45 seems nuts to me, but I'm wondering if most artists have had to jack (bates) prices up on merch to get by in these uncertain times.

In Ireland, €30-€35 seems the norm for bigger bands. Last big gig I was at was the War On Drugs and they were €35.

I started going back to shows around september. Riot, Beach house, of montreal, Flaming lips. All shirts were jack'd (bates) to the $45-60 range. So it seems about normal now to me.

It's pretty much the norm since bands are doing as much as they can to make money on tour to offset the loss in CD sales revenue. Plus, the venue usually takes a cut of the merch sales (20% or so, depending on the contract).

Most shows I've seen over the past few years are also offering a lot more lower-priced options alongside the pricier shirts, hoodies, and posters. Things like picks, keychains, necklaces, stickers, patches and pin sets.

I wouldn't mind paying $45 for a shirt but I just think these are all butt ugly. (But really, I can't remember a time post 2000 when the SP shirts haven't been ugly. If there's two things Billy is horrible at, it's choosing good opening bands and signing off on great t-shirt designs).

I have the autographed poster of that image. That is very cool. Did they make a man version of it? I don't remember seeing that on a t-shirt at any of the NYC shows (unless it was and it was too thin/under-shirt looking and I passed) 😊

Is that a man's arm or a girl's arm? It looks kinda hairy. Would men wear that bracelet?

I'm sorry I have to be the one to tell you this, but... print shirts are not a grown man's game. Focus on something more age-appopriate, like, i dunno, a Call of Duty headset.
