Could easily have been 1000 copies if there's 100 guys out there with SP/BC merchandise shrine rooms. Plus another 100 or so copies to people with far milder mental health issues who only bought 1 copy each.

Put it on iTunes. I listen to the music. |

Exactly. If people want to buy the fucking vinyl then sell that when it's ready, but to hold it back because of a vinyl shortage is stupid.

none of it makes sense, they've been working on it (allegedly) and gotten the label/legal stuff sorted out (allegedly) and the reissue thing was all going relatively smoothly up 'til Machina
the only argument that's made sense so far is Billy holding onto it since he knows a fair portion of the fanbase is holding out for it and will theoretically put up w/ the other crap he releases in the meantime. but still, anyone who's "hardcore" enough to want the machina reissue will probably be interested in the other ones he's hinted at as well |

I'm very confused by that photo above, and assume I ought to recognize the man on the right
Why is Billy cosplaying as a hard-boiled '40s private detective Why is the other man holding a pitcher of Mountain Dew Baja Blast, which he could have only purchased at Taco Bell, which does not to my knowledge offer pitchers |

This Machina saga sure was a wild ride. Spent half my life waiting to hear a clean version of M2. And now I’m 80yo.
Thanks for the memories, Billy Pumpkins! VAHGINA: GOD OF VAGINES. |

I don’t know if this has been happening to you guys yet, but Strangely enough, my only concern recently is that it really will be a sustainable business model. I really hope that it is.
I’m guessing I have developed at this point what’s known as “SPSS”. Smashing Pumpkins Stockholm Syndrome. |

I guess it’s just heart-warming to know the Pumpkins made so much money in the mid-90’s WPC could afford to “do it his way”, “prove everyone wrong” and “burn the lies off the souls” of non-believers for twenty straight years of commercial failure and brand obscurity, yet still be considered mega-rich. And you have to admire him for that.

I would be sincerely thrilled if he took his hatred of his fanbase and started writing vitriolic songs about how he wishes they would all shut up, leave him alone, die in a ditch, etc.
Nerdz Here Is No Why Epilogue: In Which the Sad Machines Die Screaming and Are Cast Into the Lake of Fire I'm of course picturing the return of the snarl, and some sick riffs, but if he wants to keep doing his dumb little acoustic fingerpicking with his dumb little trilling voice it'd be funny on another level I suppose |

I know plenty of people who DIY self release albums with vinyl pressings.
Billy's pressing delays are bullshit. He's not running massive volumes where 'supply chain' issues are of grand consideration like he pretends... |

With Machina, you have a disinterested label involved with an album that bombed. Billy is having the label cover the pressing costs with Machina. This is not DIY like Teargarden, Siddhartha, or AEGEA. Billy most likely realized his mistake going DIY with Teargarden and Siddhartha. This is why Billy works with a label like Sumerian, because they will pay for pressing costs and marketing. Hence why he's trying to get them to reissue all his other albums. Billy does whatever he can to keep it out of his pocket. You won't get a Zwan boxset unless a label like Sumerian will put money down. And UMG (who owns Virgin) doesn't give a damn about trying to push Billy's Machina boxset. Most likely, the label has their usual plant and they have a it'll get done when it gets done attitude. No one at UMG is going out of their way for Billy to find another plant so he can get his Machina boxset out as soon as possible. And Billy can't go the DIY route with Machina because UMG owns it. Billy is free to do whatever he wants with his post-Machina releases though as they're usually under Martha's Music and licensed out to a label. This gives Billy control over having it pulled from streamingi services f he wants or finding someone who will pay to reissue them. He doesn't have that control with Machina being that it was still under Virgin. But he still won't go the DIY route with post-Machina releases if he can get a label like Sumerian to cover the bill. If you’re all hoping for a Zwan or Zeitgeist boxset, you better hope that relationship with Sumerian doesn't sour.

The album bombed and many fans were gony by the release.
I mean it is just one reissue of thousands... Machina as a whole has some good trax, so does m2. But half of the trax on m1 or m2 have got skippable songs, i still cant connect. I was really into the reissue stuff but after all those reissues i had hoped for more deep dive, more surprises, more unreleased stuff.... So i am more looking forward to new songs than listening to the 4 versions of if there is a god, blue skies or raindrops |

really?
last thing i knew was that half of them were signed, those sold out. but, "due to popular demand", half of them weren't signed, and 215 of the 250 unsigned copies were left unsold last time we were able to check the stock on their website. https://forums.netphoria.org/showthread.php?t=184229 |
