But at the end of the day, everything else at a venue aside from the sound quality is bonus material; if a venue sounds really damn good — we will be back no matter what. And this is where Thalia Hall shines. Not only does it have all the favored bells and whistles, it boasts the sound quality to back it all up, which instantly makes it one of our favorite spots in the city. It’s obvious this place spent the time and money on the optimal sound system for this unique space. And what’s most surprising is that the best sounding spot in the whole room in the center of the balcony, which is quite a rarity but a great thing for those of us who love the balcony.

oh wow, thanks for the link. our tickets are GA, so I guess I better hand that stuff over to someone on the balcony.

if you're at the front, the PA is not aimed at you. so i doubt that's a good place to tape.

depends, in small venues with a fucked sound vibrance, I usually just tape mics to the stage, that gets a better result than standing 10m back. but I'm more experienced in booming, this zoom h6 goes straight over my head. I'll better let someone do it who knows what they are doing haha.

You're welcome. I remembered reading about the sound when I was looking for a picture of the venue a couple of days ago.
Good luck & have fun!

Oh yeah - aim the mics at the soundboard so you can get an AUDSBD.

Setlist from tonight

One and All
Being Beige
Hummer
Tiberius
Tonight Tonight
Drum+Fife
GatGC

Solid selection of old stuff. Cannot wait to hear Hummer. I wonder if the style of the tour is just straight up rock and trying to imitate the old SP, or if it's like the Adore tour in a way.

Plus electric Tonight Tonight is always good. Hope Jeff broke his elbow

And they haven't played GatGC since Machina, have they?

Wtf only 7 songs?

And they played GatGC on the 2007 tour all the time but it was so boring it's no wonder you don't remember

Listening to the Drum and Fife clip I'm becoming convinced Billy would benefit from just recording his vocals live when the instrumental parts are tracked. He doesn't overthink things when he's distracted with his guitar playing.

Sounds great! They sound like a completely different band than than what they've been for the last 6 years or so. You can tell Billy is actually giving a shit again. He even did some old schoold screaming on Bullet!

Fuck... Bill should scrap what he's already recorded and put these four in a studio to record an album. I haven't heard Pumpkins songs with that much energy since the 90s.
