You would be surprised the help that's out there for low cost or even free if you start looking around. If you are really concerned I would look around now before something bad happens, if you do it again and she calls the cops you will have all the costs of getting arrested plus you will be forced into anger management by the court which you will have to pay for. I'm sure there must at least be some sort of support group in your community that you can contact.
