Really, looking back it's a shame that Jimmy came back after Adore. I think it would've be far more interesting to see where Bill would've taken the band after Adore without Jimmy. Adore seemed like natural artistic evolution, and not having Jimmy pushed his songwriting. Machina seemed like a forced attempt to recapture former glories and also compete with nu-metal bands. It was too easy and formulaic to fall back on Jimmy and say "do 800 snare rolls here while I riff on the low E"
