Went to see the Smashing Pumpkins in 12/11. There was a big storm that day, with flooding, so a lot of people couldn't come to work. And others came to work because they didn't have power at their homes, lol.

Because of that, the plans I had after work were cancelled, so I went to the SP show instead.

It's weird that they had a tour for their new album, and this was almost the end of the tour, but their album was only released 2 days prior. So, I hadn't heard it yet. Who has the majority of their new album tour, before the album is released?

The lineup was:

Corgan

Jeff Schroeder, guitarist

Mark Stoermer of The Killers on bass

Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine on drums

There was a girl with a mohawk in front of me. This was her 41st SP show. She had gone to the Jimmy Kimmel SP performance, the night before, too. Also, one other person next to me recognized her too. He said that girl had been to a ton of shows in 2007, when they did 8 shows over 1.5 weeks, all in SF.

This same guy also said his favorite SP show was from 2001, at a small club in Palo Alto. Someone else nearby also recalled the show. He said you see fans going to multiple shows during a tour, because the shows are even better than the albums.

"Zero" had the biggest pit action. I'd compare it to the best of any any pit from any show of the various bands I've seen.

I had a hard time hearing Corgan on the noisier songs, especially during the first half.

Liked hearing "Disarm".

In between one songs, Corgan acknowledged the weather, and said "I know you guys went through a lot today to get here." He then turned to Schroeder, and said "You know what they call this in Chicago? The Storm Of The Century".

Overall, this was a nice show. Not the best I've seen by them, but it was worth it. Good touring lineup, and setlist.
