I thought the OP was referring to "having fun MAKING" the music. We can obviously not know whether Billy&Co had fun or not.
If he is referring to "Music should be fun to listen to", my answer is NO. Music is not always about entertaining. Thinking the contrary just shows how simplistic your approach to music is.
