happy 7k to me

in celebration i'll be making my own candles

& cookies

feel free to request

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:49 PM

Congrats!

Where should I mail the celebratory anal beads?

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:50 PM

They usually smell like mint but in the mouthwash way

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:51 PM

That said I still buy a couple Christmas candles around the holidays because they're cozy.

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:52 PM

Or, I guess snug would be a more appropriate term.

those candle scents are raunchy

Yeah, the first time I tried using a Yankee candle it gave me a wicked headache, amongst other aches, IFYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN!

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:55 PM

They didn't tell me you're supposed to take the glass lid off first.

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 02:57 PM

Oh, my bad, it wasn't actually an official Yankee Candle. It was this one:

Thanks, I'll try that next time. The 27 Rams I gave it before it finally got in there were a bit much, if I'm being honest.

 I'm completely unaware how they actually smell, it's just an ingrained tradition with Christmas for me. Like I don't even think about it. It's Christmas so gotta buy Christmas candles.

FlamingGlobes 06-09-2023 06:19 PM

Right, it's like how I associate the smell of a peach tart with the pangs of 27 rams.

vixnix 06-09-2023 10:01 PM

Every so often I succumb to the delusion that I am one of those moms/wives who lights scented candles at home. I have one scented candle that someone gave to me for Christmas in 2021. Iíve lit it less than ten times because each time the smell makes me feel ill. I think itís oil based as well. So Iím essentially filling my house with petrochemical fumes. I feel unsettled every time I light it, and when I canít take it any more, I snuff it out and then open the windows for fresh air

Joey Goldberg 06-09-2023 10:10 PM

at what point in this thread was a "pussy candle" joke made

vixnix 06-09-2023 10:14 PM

I looked it up and apparently itís soy. But I just donít like it

I like the look of your candle though Ram. I want to get one now, and see if itís any better

Disco King 06-09-2023 11:01 PM

I'm fond of diffusers, but essential oils are too expensive and also apparently a lot of them are not great to breathe in (I haven't done my research on which ones are good or bad). I just kinda default to lavender because citrus scents just smell like cleaning products and I'd rather just use incense for scents like patchouli or sandalwood and that stuff.

Ram27 06-09-2023 11:46 PM

ooh haha i had ordered a cheap set of essential oils + diffuser on amazon but then decided to cancel and try the candle instead

kinda wish i didn't, there's a lot of hokum about essential oils you can kinda trick yourself to believe. plus it's more interactive

it is a good candle tho

Disco King 06-10-2023 12:21 AM

I don't really look into all the hippy claims about essential oils calming you or having whatever effect on you. I just like good smells.

ilikeplanets 06-10-2023 12:29 AM

Essential oils definitely give me a headache and/or nausea. Especially lavender.

i have an oil diffuser and incense even but i will not light up anything meant to smell like a cookie or f'ing 'christmas'

ram, try to quit amazon, will ya?

Elijah Moon 06-10-2023 05:15 PM

I started burning oils a while back. At the moment I like Myrrh and Rose Musk, they make my room smell awesome.

This one is for Alterboi. A chocolate banana black bean smoothie, made with almond milk and dates, and served next to several children's toys in a tacky plastic cup.

I'm perpetually on the hunt for low fat/high protein recipes that supposedly satisfy dessert cravings, and bean smoothies are a surprisingly popular mention. I didn't notice the beans at all, but after my first sip, I said "this tastes healthy" out loud, probably because almond milk and cocoa powder both taste like chalk. And then I felt my blood sugar spike about 30 minutes later. I have no plans to repeat it.

What does this have to do with what I said? Can't blame grandma for that!

vixnix 06-14-2023 06:46 AM

Weíre trying to save money so Iím using up some protein powder we bought for my son, he didnít like it so itís just been sitting in the fridge. It expired in January but I figured it would still be fine because itís just milk powder and we kept it in the fridge, and expiry dates are just suggestions for products like these surely

But then I threw it up in the staff bathroom at work and now I canít face drinking any more of it

Iíll probably try again in a few days, just in case it was something else that made me sick

Cool As Ice Cream 06-14-2023 11:13 AM

chuck it
