Maybe your indecision has been going on longer than that, though

or maybe it's because you keep reading worldly (aka demonic) books instead of one's sanctified by the Holy Spirit?

try this for a change:

Just stumbled across this quote in The Testaments:

“No one wants to die,” said Becka. “But some people don’t want to live in any of the ways that are allowed.”

damn :(

buzzard 05-28-2020 09:21 PM

Becka is a Biblical name?

I thought that one was reserved for club types that get awkward six times a night when somebody they owe for pills walks in.

'bout to dive headfirst into this 1 when it comes in next week

FoolofaTook 05-29-2020 11:28 AM

Hmm, don't know about that one. It seems a little spiritually sketchy.

Have you checked with your local church elder?

buzzard 05-29-2020 11:34 AM

I'd love to know what Catherine Wheel thinks of that one in 2034.

FoolofaTook 05-29-2020 11:39 AM

Catherine Wheel is in 2034.

It was always enough for me that her books are just pages of bland dialogue set against a backdrop of the most pedestrian possible storytelling clichés, but it would appear that Rowling's authorship is not necessarily any worse than her inner character.

Disappointing. Rushed and underdeveloped. Handmaid >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Testaments

Yeah it’s wicked, one of my all time faves

Much better than 10,00,000,000 years of solitude or whoever

yeah i only got 100 pages into that and gave up. the characters were too goofy/surreal to be compelling.

loved the rest of cholera tho. great ending. great setting! the city and the time really felt immersive and tangible.

Joey Goldberg 11-28-2020 07:16 PM

in any case, picked this up on a whim (sorta) from a new local place after having listened to 3 or so WTC related albums the day before

ovary 12-14-2020 09:51 PM

i read the virgin suicides. lots of sad teenage girl sex.

Joey Goldberg 12-14-2020 10:57 PM

how are you reading a book & don't even notice the name of the author?

i'm beginning to suspect this "Tool of a Fool" character hasn't read a god damned thing

FoolofaTook 12-14-2020 11:21 PM

I don't wanna go full on conspiracy guy, but I believe there's a lot of political motivation and deception going on with Covid-19. A year before in Davos for the World Economic Forum there was a presentation about the need for a "great reset" and it was actually suggested that it could be rolled out under the guise of a pandemic.

buzzard 12-14-2020 11:38 PM

Love to get a copy of that PowerPoint presentation.
