You'll get a UBI before you get a $15 nationwide min wage

Which is never

The real problem is that the Democrats don't have a progressive majority in Congress. And even people like Bernie Sanders have been leading people on when it comes to the likelihood of getting it passed.

It was never going to be included in budget reconciliation. The House can pass the buck on it, but the rules don't allow that type of legislation to be passed without a vote in the Senate.

Progressives need to start asking how to put pressure on conservatives in the Dem caucus and getting them to accept agenda items like this. Cause shaming Joe Manchin on Twitter doesn't change Joe Manchin's vote.

universal i.e. across the entire universe

killtrocity 04-14-2021 04:38 PM

$15 wouldn't make much difference at this point without also addressing student loan interest, if nothing else, as well as medical debt and that whole fucked up rats nest that only corporatocracy could deliver

MyOneAndOnly 04-14-2021 07:32 PM

$15 and the loan company will take more right out of your check every week to pay the interest on your forever student loan
