favorite decaprio roll?

i just got done watching the wall street wolves. he is one of my favorite actors what is his best portayal

MusicMan4 05-24-2014 01:53 PM

i think my fav dicipricio performance was actually as the wolf on wall street
it was very powerful how he made you cheer for the wolf as he banged hookers and bought boats and did drugs and just had a really good time but then spoilers near the end leon and marty scores (the director) really flip the script on you and it turns out he was never really the good guy...he was a damn wolf in sheep's clothes the whole time

hnibos 05-24-2014 04:09 PM

I wonder how this could affect the mid terms

Lucky Day Spa 05-24-2014 07:22 PM

lenardo was p good in gladiator

The exploding boy 05-24-2014 08:50 PM

You are all wrong. It's as Rimbaud getting it up the bum bum hard from Verlaine/David Thewlis.

Lucky Day Spa 05-24-2014 10:24 PM

who asked you poindexter

The exploding boy 05-24-2014 11:54 PM

Well i'm sorry you see, but you gentlemen don't know about the seventh art as i do. You are all philistines whereas i am a true connoisseur so i had to set you straight, pun evidently intended.

It is self-evident that if you indeed knew about the Cinema you would know that whenever a straight male actor portrays a gay man they automatically produce their most brave and impressive performance generally worthy of Oscar contention. I don't think i speak for myself only when i say that when i first saw the scene in which Thewlis exerts himself upon the raised rear end of Dicrapio i was immediately astonished at how such a straight young man like he could so convincingly take a stiffie up the jacksie, so to speak. The pure contentment expressed by his facial features was as authentic as i've ever seen a proper gayer display. Therefore i give his performance in this Agnieszka Holland oeuvre (Total Eclipse, 1994) two thumbs way up (his pert buttocks)

Now if you would excuse me, i have a cinema club reunion (this is french for meeting for you non-polyglots...) to attend to during which we will surely watch some obscure french cinema verite film from the pre 60's. This promises to be just delightful.

He was fantastic in Wolf.
Also in This Boy's Life, Gilbert Grape.

I wonder how long they'll keep nominating him for an Oscar without ever giving him one. They still punish him for Titanic. And The Beach.

(Also can I just teenage-swoon and say he looked damn gorgeous in R&J?)

Order 66 05-25-2014 12:30 PM

i'm sort of happy he hasn't gotten an oscar tbh.. fuck the academy

MusicMan4 05-25-2014 12:35 PM

i thought leon looked really good as the wall street wolf
back in inception he was...i don't know his face was like starting to get "puffy" is the only word i have for it
he really got it back together for that roll thouugh
and it's weird cause he didn't need to since he was playing a wealthy hedonist who didn't need to be in any kind of shape

The exploding boy 05-25-2014 12:40 PM

I really hate Dicaprio actually and don't know why the fuck Scorsese decided to latch onto him and ensure him a long and profitable career. he's one of those star actors that pretty much always seems to be the same guy even when the role isn't. Of course that's most A-list actors but still.

Order 66 05-25-2014 12:42 PM

he's been chubby for like 10 years now. he just whips into shape for movie rolls (which is probably easy when you don't have a real job)

Yeah i have to say i was surprised that he got back to thin for Wolf of Wall Street. He's probably bloated again now.

The exploding boy 05-25-2014 12:44 PM

It says a lot about him as a person that he's pretty much only dated models in his life.

he's got good taste at least. i can't think of one bad movie he signed onto .. except for man in the iron mask, i guess, but that was 15 years ago

he was going to produce an Akira movie.. wanted to see how it'd turn out but it sounded like a disaster

MusicMan4 05-25-2014 12:46 PM

it's because he's a really good actor and among a-listers he is probably the worst example of somebody doing the same performance every time

most of the time people dislike actors because of prejudice based on their looks or public personas rather than their actual performances
i guess that's unavoidable and i am also guilty of it so i am not taking this opportunity to "maliciously misinterpret" anything, thank you and god bless

nah i know about his habit of letting go during the off season which is something that actually makes me like him more

when i said "puffy" it was more like
it was just in inception, in the movie and during that time
it wasn't like a weight thing, it was more like an age thing
just natural age related bloat that seems harder to recover from

Order 66 05-25-2014 12:49 PM

i suffer from balloon head myself

i think he basically just made a decision in the last decade to only take rolls with respected directors who still have blockbuster appeal
which is a great strategy once you've already made it as an a-lister
will smith is somebody who should really have gone that route

Any goodwill Will Smith has ever benefited from has been utterly and completely destroyed by his repeated attempts at pushing his horrible douche kids on us.

Well....i hope so anyway. He's worthy of Tom Cruise level hatred.

And to get back to Dicrapio, Inception was a piece of shit. Or anyway it was a movie really in love with itself and its concept. I was bored after 30 minutes. Fuck Nolan, he made like 3 decent films (The prestige, Dark Knight and Memento) hardly worthy of fanboyism.

The exploding boy 05-25-2014 01:00 PM

JUST FUCK EVERYONE

Maybe it would have done you some good to have some *questions* from time to time, you know? "Am I an asshole? Are my kids a mess? Is my wife a money-grubbing whore?" I mean, those are questions, right? "Have I ever been good to my dying sister or am I just now pretending to be?"
