Napa show was fire
I’ll post a full review later but it was up there in terms of the 20+ shows I’ve seen.

It's like I'm right there in the room rubbing shoulders with James and Billy and Jimmy |

Those guitars sound great. Why can't they do that on record??
|
Was nice til he started to sing.
|
not gonna lie
this sounds like ass good songs and classic oldies but singing sucks ballz |
He really thought he was serving cunt Darcy stylee. Very sad version of my absolute favorite billy composition
|
What's up with the scribble on his forehead? In what kind of reality does it make any sense?
And Jeff must stop taking the lead on MCIS material. Just gtfo Jeff. |
damn, they finally brought it back but cut out the best part of the song

"Beautiful" caught my attention: still my favorite SP song. It sounds exactly like I imagine the 2023 Smashing Pumpkins playing the song: no better and no worse. It certainly sounds more convincing than when they tried to play a heavy cut like "Quiet" a few years back. If it's in Jeff's contract that he gets a certain amount of aimless noodling each song, he certainly sounds better on this than doing dive bombs and shit.

I know he says and we think he could sing in the old Bolly way anytime but I'm not convinced he can, or not without straining. And this isn't the hardest song to sing in the Pumpkins catalogue. |
No fire detected. Jeff ripping some Slash style leads over Beautiful is a big nope. Go home Jeff. Guy can’t play for the song at all.

So get prepared for a foo fighters sounding or metallica soundibg next rock album without any dynamics but billy croaking all over |
both of those sound leagues better than current pumpkins on their new records
|
I <3 Starla and Beautiful. Pretty jealous rn

serious question -- if someone had been in a coma for the last 15+ years, familiar with these bands only at their commercial peaks, and woke up today, which video thumbnail would be more surprising, bill corgan above, or the mudvayne guy, chad gray, below: |
cool they are playing Rocket again
|
Yikes his vocals sound absolutely terrible.
