I forget

Was there a reason SP didn't play Woodstock '94

Butt Pope 08-11-2021 05:43 AM

Nope!

He said recently that they begged him to do it but he felt the "shit" lineup wasn't worthy of his time or the name Woodstock. Some bands that he likes/respects played it and they "must've had their reasons" but time proves he was right and the whole thing was "a joke".

Shallowed 08-11-2021 10:05 AM

nine inch nails tho

Butt Pope 08-11-2021 10:30 AM

It’s a weird lineup. Nine Inch Nails, but also spin doctors?

Cheryl Crow and Cyprus Hill?

Metallica and The Wiggles???

T&T 08-11-2021 10:31 AM

it's almost like it was a festival lineup of what was popular at the time regardless of genre.

He said they asked him to do the star spangled banner as he was "the natural choice to take that torch" but he thought that was extremely disrespectful as he was a much more capable guitarist than Jimi Hendrix.

Sounds like someone has tickets to Spin Doctors and Toni Braxton next month.

Cool As Ice Cream 08-11-2021 01:52 PM

*turns on Spin Doctors - Two Princes* (if you have this song feel free to turn it on.. ya I know it should be two princess, but hey whatever)

They absolutely crushed. haha. I watched their set. When Trent is running with the mic cord from the crowd to back up on the stage and trip wires the guitarist. hahaha. They were feeling it.

Agree. Violent Femmes too. haha. Sign of the times. I will say Cyprus Hill still crushes live to this day. They haven't changed one bit.

No. You're thinking of Woodstock '99. And he said from dealing with the promoters that it felt like a cash grab. It's easily googleable. I never saw any of the quotes you're attributing.

For Woodstock '94, TSP was doing Lollapalooza. They played 2 or 3 dates over that weekend.

Billy needs a stylist so bad.

I'm surprised he doesn't have a jacket perched over his shoulders for yet another layer.
