Yes. Lossless. Read that again ;)

aiff is uncompressed. you would have to be stupid to seed it like that.

T&T 10-24-2007 04:32 AM

uhg... some people here are slow on the uptake, quick on the insults. makes me cringe when the word "community" is thrown around.

shouldn't we try to get the original torrent going again?

Cool As Ice Cream 10-24-2007 08:42 AM

if possible, yeah, sure. i don't think wpc33 still has the original files though.

in my opinion it's not that important though. this compilation is full of cd rips (which i won't download). it's not a live recording you're trying to keep as pure as possible.

Original CDs/DVDs/Cassettes
does this imply that the creator of the torrent transferred/ripped everything himself? it's a very vague source description. could as well mean he just downloaded everything from different sources and re-encoded it to flac...

also: "missing: drown (edit)": isn't this one on rotten apples?

IWishIWasBlank 10-24-2007 09:16 AM

I'm all in for this new torrent. I'll look into getting this on at school Thursday night. That's something like a T3. Would be good for seeding back out.

wpc33 10-24-2007 06:16 PM

If it aint up like clockwork, don't nobody hang me. This requires alot of my time.

IWishIWasBlank 10-25-2007 08:50 AM

Never would've guessed.

wpc33 10-25-2007 05:24 PM

The buttholes I ordered my new enclosure from are taking forever to get the thing in from across-country. They said Wednesday, now it's Friday. Patience is a virtue...or so I tell myself.

EDIT: I have to work tomorrow 6-6. I might miss the pick-up office. If I do, it could be Monday for god's sake. I'll do my best. That is all. This will happen. God, I feel like Billy.

RenewRevive 10-25-2007 06:13 PM

thanks for the update.

spacey raygun 10-25-2007 11:05 PM

back in 2001 i made a compilation of related artists' songs that SP directly had a hand in called "the family tree of SP"

i gotta find the tracklist but i remember it having fulflej, catherine, big hat, red red meat and some others...

smiley got a copy of that...

IWishIWasBlank 10-27-2007 08:50 AM

Huh. I've never heard this idea before. I'm impressed.

FINALLY! GOD
I'll have it up soon, now.

yoshinobu's revenge 10-29-2007 11:05 PM

is nxsource good?

wpc33 10-29-2007 11:33 PM

I must say yes, despite the maybe-my-fault thing where it seemed like the item was in stock, when it ambiguously was in stock on the other side of the country where they're primarily located. I had to wait 9 calendar days to get it. I just hooked it up now.
I'm organizing & encoding the flac's right now. More later.

yoshinobu's revenge 10-29-2007 11:38 PM

Sweet. Thanks!

wpc33 10-30-2007 01:22 PM

All the Flac's are done. I'm just finishing the md5's right now. Then I'll upload the torrent

Cool As Ice Cream 11-02-2007 08:19 PM

all puffy remixes are lossy.

Brute Squad 11-02-2007 09:47 PM

I didn't believe you at first, so I just ripped the three Puffy remixes. They all have a drop just before 16kHz. First track:

SMASHING PUMPKINS

Puff Daddy "Perfect" Remixes
Studio
Virgin In-House CDR > CDR > EAC > Wav > Flac

Set list:

1. Perfect (MP Mix) 4:11
2. Perfect (Vocal Up) 4:11
3. Perfect (Instrumental) 4:11

This was one of two remixes Puff Daddy did for The Smashing Pumpkins back in 1998
(the other being Ava Adore, which has not surfaced).
These remixes were comissioned but never used because apparently Puff Daddy wanted too much money.

In August of 1998, two copies of a Virgin in-house CDR (with dot matrix printed inserts!)
showed up on eBay. I bought one of them. The seller told me he retrieved them from a dumpster
at Virgin Records.

A few years later I sold the original CDR to another collector, but ripped the CD before selling
it. This distribution is sourced from my rip, which is why there is an extra CDR gen in the lineage.

Not the Pumpkins' finest hour, but an interesting curiosity nonetheless.

Feel free to encode this to MP3, upload to Porntube,
sing it in the shower, whatever.

i think someone uploaded it here for me a while back....
