well, i'm happy for the rest of you who can go....and i'm happy for jimmy who seems to be ok for the long-term...but alas i can no longer make this Austin show.

the only reason i was doing both was the proximity with the dallas show. 5 days apart, and on a tues just won't work for me. i'm lucky i can even fly back for Dallas.

so i'm going to call gettix for refund on these, but still go to dallas. i'm actually still flying to texas this weekend because the cost of rescheduling my flight is within $50 of takign a 2nd trip, so i'll just visit my friend twice.

From my follow up, the city is to blame for the date. it was too short of notice for them to get everything in order for a weekend show (apparently austin is strict on everything) and rather than lose the concert all together they opted to do a weekday show. Different permits and such needed for outdoor shows. Kinda sucks

On a side note he said the pumpkins camp was overly cooperative and apologetic.

also, for anyone who cares, gettix was very cooperative for the refund.

unlike ticketmaster they refunded the ticket service charge as well as the face value in full.....it was only the $3 credit card service charge they couldn't refund me.

That sucks, but at least you'll make the Dallas show. I'm glad that I can still see them in Austin, but it sucks I can't make the Dallas show because my girlfriend was going to that one as well.

yea, 1 of 2 is better than none....and getting the refund on 2 austin tix will help me recoop the cost of the 2nd plane ticket.

hmmmm...i wonder what the break will do for the setlists...

that is how long i can get a good price on a flight out to Austin.. it would cost me under $300 to fly out and see the show.. the whole thing

well, i think i had my fair share this past weekend. went down to austin for fun fun fun on saturday (Explosions in the Sky, New Pornographers, Of Montreal, Battles, I Love You but I've Chosen Darkness, Headlights) and to denton for a punk/math-rock show on friday (J Retard and Don Cabarello)

the shiner and lone star was flowing A PLENTY.

I heard the Denton show was good. I was gonna go cause i live in Denton but a friend ended up getting free pit tix to the Hullabaloo show so we decided to check that out instead.

can't go wrong with a Lone Star though.

so, this morning on the dudley and bob show (local morning show) the hosts sister calls up. they get in a hissy about bands.

his sister says 'oh well i guess i can't go to the smashing pumpkins show...'
