And for winter coats I splurge and get them one from Costco. No sense in designer stuff that will be outgrown quickly and not taken care of. There's not even a department store within 50 miles of me, anyway. I only go to one if I want something new.

not bad for just getting back into running. i go between picking a length of time to run (started with 10 mins but 20 is good now) and going as far as I can in that time or picking a distance goal. the first thing i did on the treadmill was attempt running 1 mile. my goal today was 3. my older cousin is a runner, too, and asked if i wanted to run a marathon with her when i mentioned getting back into it when we hung after her mom's/my aunt's memorial service last week. i didn't say yes or no--just asked "a whole one?!"--but I am thinking about it even though I only ran 5ks and shorter races when I ran competitively. I have some endurance but I mostly like to go fast. edit: guh, i need a busy poster in front of my treadmill to help me concentrate/give me details to get lost in. i always forget to look for something until i am confronted with staring at cracks and cobwebs in and on the basement wall. this meme about the sorry state of the world from topleybird would be greeeat. |

Wait, you ran 3 miles in 22 minutes? That's fast as fuck. I'd be happy to run 3k in 22 minutes.
I just got cleared to exercise a week ago, as long as I don't lift anything too heavy yet, and no sit ups or ab focused exercises until 12 weeks post op (I'm at 7 weeks now). But I can do cardio again and have started with 30 minute walks. My stamina is shit right now but I guess there's nowhere to go but up. |
no planets, that's her microwave oven
i don't think she should be cooking for that length of time don't encourage this |
Microwave oven that goes the distance!
|
does anyone ever actually use the "power level" setting on microwaves?
|
I remember growing up my grandparents had the most convoluted esoteric microwave on earth. Don't we all just mash the start button to get the time we need in 30 second increments?
|
what on earth are you microwaving that needs more than a 3 minute blast for the love of god
|
lol i remember cook books from the 70s that were like you can cook a 4lb pot roast in the microwave
|
i don't remember these books but i've seen them
i'm only 27 |
i used to work with this older lady who pronounced it "mackernave" and i think about that constantly
|
she once told me that i would have been a fine suitor for one of her daughters but unfortunately all of her daughters are "no good evil brats"
|
so naturally i was like "are they hot?" and she goes "no they're liars"

i've never used a power level and i will never use a power level
maybe this is why i never got into modular synthesis |
i was going to make a comment about how i only operate in 30 second time intervals but that's setting me up for so much abuse and so many sick burns i decided not to
but it would be pretty funny if i said something like that |
