how did you like the grammys

bad boy

Joey Goldberg 03-15-2021 10:34 PM

if the grammys weren't already utterly unimportant, irrelevant, and uninteresting, they certainly made a pretty damn convincing bid this year!

Joey Goldberg 03-15-2021 10:46 PM

those hip hop noms were relatively (arbitrarily?) cool tho

i was very happy taylor swift won AOTY

everything else was fairly bad

i already hated cardi b as an artist more than i have hated any other artist before. wap isn't bad for being sexy, it's bad for being obnoxious shite just like everything else she sings on

so if that wasn't bad enough then i had to have a conversation. with my parents. about it. billy corgan could kick me in the face so hard he blinded me in one eye and i'd still like him more

i know there's no way to not sound like an angsty 13 year old when complaining about artists you don't like so i won't even bother trying

i like this song

buzzard 03-18-2021 10:58 PM

I don't understand how Taika Waititi managed to win one for the Jojo Rabbit soundtrack, which is just a compilation including songs from The Beatles, Roy Orbison and David Bowie. An unwillingness to look into the matter any further probably doesn't help.

It's unlikely to be any less bullshit than any other award handed out, too, I suppose.

Agreed, but it's way too much effort for me to hate on the Grammys. I care so little, that even not caring about them feels like too much acknowledgement.

Shallowed 03-19-2021 01:41 AM

Although I do care about and hate that they flouted the pandemic. They should have done it like the Emmys last year.

run2pee 03-19-2021 02:10 AM

There was a grammys?

....Shit

everyone else caring about them so much causes polarity, forcing your not caring to be extreme

i guess that happens with every major event

Shallowed 03-19-2021 04:37 AM

The Grammys this year had the lowest viewership ever. Less than half of last year.

smashingjj 03-19-2021 06:56 AM

favourite moment of the year, as always

dude! it does not matter.

i suggest you stop watching shit you care so little about.
no need to waste any time thinking about it either.
it's the grammys. you don't care. the end.

if you really want to, you are allowed a short elphy phase where you announce how little you care about it. you know what i mean.

Eulogy 03-22-2021 07:49 PM

Thoroughly enjoyed dua lipa, t swift, and cardi/megan. And surprisingly the lady country medley??

ninsp 03-23-2021 09:56 AM

Cardi B should be in jail for multiple felonies FYI

Eulogy 03-23-2021 10:29 AM

Ok thanks for the input

Morlock 04-06-2021 10:23 AM

Did the Pumpkins win best rock act and which song did they perform on stage?

Cool As Ice Cream 04-06-2021 11:33 AM

'twas something with a carrot

why is this concept so lost?

slunken 04-06-2021 07:41 PM

the only people i know who watched the grammies were a group of gay men

slunken 04-06-2021 07:41 PM

and they bitched about it too

TheAlter 04-07-2021 10:27 AM

"I don't know. Having won a couple Grammys for stupid shit -- best metal performance -- it's hard to feel good about the integrity of that. The politics involved and the fact [the Grammys are] a TV show trying to get ratings led me to a pretty sour stance on the world of awards."

Trent Reznor

smashingjj 04-07-2021 11:43 AM

plus, The Microdance was never even a nominee and I just can't take that shit seriously anymore

TheAlter 04-07-2021 11:55 AM

*unfuckinbelievable*

I am a gay man who did not bitch about it so what now

Eulogy 04-08-2021 04:53 AM

I do think there is something to the idea that gay men pay more attention to awards shows. Someone should do some research on this.

Cool As Ice Cream 04-08-2021 05:37 AM

should scholars point to the grammys as an example of this in the recent spectrum of time?

Probably not because most people hate them. But globes/oscars/emmys/sag? Probably.

Cool As Ice Cream 04-08-2021 08:29 AM

scientists have studied award shows for centuries. i've done a little research on my own and i must say that there is no doubt in my mind! please check out the youtube video of this random nutter. keep an open mind and you too will be convinced, i'm sure. it brings a tear of joy to my eye.

incubator 04-08-2021 10:48 AM

the whole thing has been infiltrated by the sort of leftist, anti-American, Beijing Biden loving, woke commie, BLM/Antifa, Trump Derangement Syndrome suffering, purple haired progressive, big tech, Nintendo Switch owning, cancel culture twitterati, pussy non-coal rolling, broke-brained scumbags who take the knee and ensure that only "approved" artists have any chance of winning awards so there's no point in watching it

smashingjj 04-08-2021 11:16 AM

that too.
