I think it's quite possible a relevant social commentary on how society places us in roles that we're expected to fill, making us feel trapped, helpless, and dissatisfied with our lot. Should any one of us deny, really, what our inclinations are, what our innermost hopes, dreams and desires motivate us to do? When we all look deep enough into ourselves, we will surely know the answer. It is profound and moving once we can all realize that men can and should be able to express their love for their childhood and now (finally), their adulthood. It is liberating to witness this happening and I, for one, not only as a social commentator but also (and more importantly) as a member of the human race, am compelled to join in with these pioneers of What Truly Matters. You would be, suffice to say, cruel and unfeeling if you did not join me, no, us in what is really the only purpose on this Earth.

What the hell is all this about. Our generation is a bunch of manchildren.

I'm thinking it's the male lesbian coming out party, with their central heroine Rainbow Dash. The generation of men raised by women didn't turn to fighting, they turned to My Little Pony.

Trotskilicious 06-29-2011 11:55 PM

oh also furs

ilikeplanets 06-29-2011 11:58 PM

It's ironic when irony fails like that.

I'm just trying to formulate some sort of theorem for curiosity's sake because it's such a bizzare phenomenon, and it is primarily anonymous. I'm pretty sure I'd watch this high as balls because I pretty much enjoy almost anything that comes out of Craig McCracken's camp. I think Foster's Home is probably preferable to My Little Pony though but there must be something entertaining about this silly, colorful thing.

soniclovenoize 06-30-2011 07:51 AM

Don't they call them "bronies"? It's kinda weird...

Name: Nature Wind

Race: Pegasus

Gender: Female

Cutie Mark: Two falling leaves

Nature Wind as a pony is a green female pegasus who lives near the Everfree Forest. She owns a shop where she sells natural products like Rainbow Tea and wood-made tools. She lives with a baby cardinal bird and usually goes to Ponyville to make promotion of her shop.

She likes fresh green hay and sugar, but hates industrial-made sweets.

Her room has a bed but she never sleeps on it.

She is completly obsessed with a wooden sphere given by a pony kid when she was just a little filly.

Nature Wind is a spanish male brony who joined the herd in early February when he was taking a look at 4chan's threads and found many My Little Pony related threads. He began posting ponies as Anonymous, but soon, charmed by the My Little Pony official threads' positivism, love and friendship, changed his name to Nature Wind and made a pegasus female ponysona.

His experience as a brony made his life in the Internet happie because of the brony feedback. His experience in My Little Pony official threads helped him dealing with his fear of needles.

He was banned for 14 days from 4chan for replying on a pony thread.

soniclovenoize 06-30-2011 08:12 AM

Holy god this is some funny shit.

http://images.wikia.com/bronies/imag..._-_Colored.png

Name: Shadow Mist

Race: Unicorn

Gender: Female

Cutie Mark: None

ShadowMist is just about to enter adulthood, and there's still no sign of her Cute Mark. She's had her job at the library for a couple of years. It's not something she particularly enjoys, but the work is easy, and the pay is enough to get by. She makes a lot of trips to Canterlot, but nopony knows why. ShadowMist is a very shy pony, so she doesn't have many friends. She's a hard worker, but hasn't discovered something that she's exceptionally good at and would enjoy doing all her life.

Likes: Being alone, pleasant smells, eating raw cookie dough, playing tag, reading comics

Dislikes: Brussels sprouts, large crowds, disorganization

While Faust acknowledges that her work on The Powerpuff Girls influenced her creative process and that she intentionally looked to create a show that could be enjoyed by adults, she said she’s genuinely surprised about the large number of dedicated bronies, whom she clearly adores.

To their credit, I could have said this was a Smashing Pumpkins pre-show meet-up and you would have believed me.
