A proper Hole reunion is underway. Late last year, Courtney Love hinted at the possibility, tweeting a photo of herself with the band's founding guitarist Eric Erlandson. Now Love has confirmed that she, Erlandson, Melissa Auf Der Maur, and Patty Schemel have been practicing together, reuniting a lineup that broke up in 2002.

"I started playing with Patty and Melissa and Eric, just to see how that was," Love told The Quietus late on April 1. "We already played like three or four times in the last week." Her previously teased solo single, "Wedding Day," is reportedly due ahead a Love's U.K. tour in May.

According to The Quietus, Love and the reunited Hole are working on a new music. Their last album together was 1998's Celebrity Skin. Love was the only Hole member returning for the band's nominal 2010 album Nobody's Daughter (check out Love's March 2010 SPIN cover story).

Elsewhere, Love has brought new life to the idea of a Kurt Cobain musical, and photos of an apartment she shared with her late husband recently surfaced online. When not searching for Daniel Tosh's genitals or Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, she recently starred in a Fall Out Boy video.

With the way she's bragging all the time, it could be a long-ass book or even a trilogy

There were so many things to say about Billy if she wanted to go into details. Their relationship, Lollapalooza 94, Melissa Auf der Maur recommended by him, how Billy helped Hole out for "Celebrity Skin" and on her solo album (oh, it says "Hole" on the cover) "Nobody's Daughter" etc. But would she ?

It's nice that Kurt wrote "65 per cent" of "Live Through This", tell Eric Erlandson that! Hole used to be a real band wether people like it or not, and Eric was very important in it (it's no secret that Courtney isn't enough of a musician to flesh out her ideas by herself). Kurt played bass on a demo for "Miss World", the intro before "Credit in the Straight World" is part of a song he co-wrote, he sang some half assed background vocals that didn't make the final cut of the album, and wrote "Old Age" (well, Courtney re-wrote the lyrics) a song that's not on the album. That's it.

idgaf i still love this

fuzzyroes 04-03-2014 11:02 PM

As far as I know, Bill wrote about 5 or 6 songs on the album. I'm pretty sure he's responsible for all of the only good tracks on the album but I can't recall the source. But I think these songs all have that Corgan songwriting sound: Celebrity skin, Awful, Malibu, Dying and use once and destroy

null123 04-03-2014 11:45 PM

i think courtney wrote siamese dream

co-written by corgan (officially): celebrity skin, hit so hard, malibu, dying and petals.

According to Erlandson, who discussed the recording sessions online in 2005, Love was allegedly "not caring about" playing her instrument during the sessions, focusing only on singing and song-writing. He also confirmed Corgan's involvement in the recording process, and revealed he played bass on "Hit So Hard" and the outtake "Be a Man." Earlier in 2002, Love revealed on the band's official online forum, that Corgan also played bass on "Petals" as Melissa Auf der Maur was unable to play it.

Oh, you mean the hits?

Cool As Ice Cream 04-04-2014 03:50 AM

celebrity skin and malibu? or are there more hits in that list?

he also co-wrote "be a man", apparently. this was also released as a single. not sure if it was a hit though. i don't know if i know this song.

Trotskilicious 04-04-2014 04:37 AM

did we ever find out if he wrote that horrible veronicas song with the "mouths of babes" lyric in it

I'M YOUR LOLITA, LA FEMME NIKITA

dodoz 04-04-2014 08:07 AM

I've always wondered if Billy didn't actually sing uncredited on "Playing your Song" on "Celebrity Skin". Listen to it REALLY close (with headphones, and if possible, not from a bad youtube video), there's a weird voice singing under Courtney's main vocal, the same melody, but an octave lower. It could probably be just Courtney who can sing quite low (even if she didn't have her croaky, "been chain smoking forever" tone yet). It's most audible during the middle part ("their innocence tastes like candy, yeah...") but the vocal sounds really nasal and could be Corgan, but it's really hard to tell (I could just picture him singing on a song dissing those unoriginal post-grunge bands).

I love Celebrity Skin, even the songs Billy didn't co-write, like Northern Star and Playing Your Song. Though there are some boring songs like Heaven Tonight. Solid B album.

juliana 04-04-2014 10:43 AM

Billy said on howard stern once that he also ghost wrote and played some bass on the album.

It's kind of fucked up that the Seattle Police Department just released more death scene photos...especially that close-up of Kurt's arm.
