In today's Instagram video, BC distanced himself from a previously positive fan group he had supported which has now apparently gone bitter.
Too much complaining about the price of things and trying to fleece fans etc.

I wonder if they're having a huge "come to Jesus" discussion where they reevaluate their attitudes and promise to do better/renew their faith, and they kick out people who continue to raise even the mildest objection

His "sorrow is the family business" schtick lasted a week? He had shirts, a trucker hat ($35), a hoodie, and a few other nonsense items for sale. Went to Zuzus.com today and 404 error for the "sorrow items". Oh, and a fucking SP candybar.

This is a dumb concept that no fan can relate to and he complains that his cult isn't doing enough and discards them. Typical BC move.

But yeah, welcome SMs. Looking forward to your inner circle confessions now that you're on the outside and can start to face reality.

sustainable business model

Sad Machines are some of the worst, most insecure and bullying fans in the entire SP community. They've been having issues for too long. Getting into political arguments with the likes of sierra swan, linda strawberry, etc etc.. basically mansplaining to them and I think that finally got back to Billy and he's realized that groups are just a toxic environment for fans to speak and communicate. He has a long history of turning his back on these groups for that reason.. he said as much in that video (oboard, hipsters united) etc etc. so it's not just about prices, merch, archive prices, etc. I get a sense said fans grew entitled due to their perceived closeness to Billy, bullying other fans at concerts who they felt didn't deserve to be closer to the stage, etc etc.

Fuck em all to hell. They deserve a spanking.

They will probably ban anyone that complains about the price. After that they will buy 5 of each item to please Billy.

Billy should release the same item in 7 different colours to make people buy the same thing more than once.

I just hope they're proud of themselves. proud of themselves for dedicating 5-6 years of their life creating an SP community where people can speak with one another about their favorite band, get along with one another, foster a positive environment without getting negative in the process, and then completely failing at it.

I would hazard a wild guess it's behind the scenes "super-fan" BS again. More than just a handful of the 650 members grumbling that they couldn't buy the archives on a CD. And/or they couldn't afford thre zuzus photos at $650 a pop, after shelling out $2,200 for the Cotillions satues or such like

Sometime I feel a bit sorry for the all-in type fans you see on Instagram - the ones who have built up a big archive of stuff from the band who probably feel like they need to spend all their money on what's being offered

Can't say too much because of NDAs and cash rewards but he shared preliminary plans for something (that's a little more "essential" than photos, tracksuits etc) with a group of true hardcorefans and was told to fuck off.

I watched the IG stream and it seems like the issue was merch prices. That's when he goes into the SP IS A BUSINESS thing.
