trying to get a 2nd cat for my apartment and these fucking people are such sick fucking vampires
first they email like 'pay $500' to have a 2nd cat -- FIVE HUNDRED. just...out of thin fucking air, for fucking nothing. fucking fucking fucking monsters then i email and say 'i already paid $200 for the 1st cat' then they come back and say 'If you are adding a 2nd pet you will need to pay for the 2nd pet deposit, it is a $300 refundable deposit, and bring in vet records.' which is more reasonable but still. i can't tell if they're clarifying down to 300 or not. and EVEN STILL, THREE HUNDRED for them doing fuck all. absolutely fuck all. it's a cat. were they not going to clean the unit after i leave with the 1 cat?? fucking disgusting fucking fucks. |

Funny you say that, the last couple of times I’ve been in Auckland I liked it - we’ve thought about moving up once the kids are finished at high school. Wellington feels so small and empty and windy and cold. |

today was the first time we got 6 eggs in a day from our 7 hens. Only one of our 7 month old hens hasn't layed... or at least we think one hasn't. Hard to tell cause several of them lay identical dark brown eggs with dark speckles.

My friend got 13 eggs and is trying to hatch them....she sent me a few pics last night of the beginning of that process. She only wants hens.

so my talk of the table is that i started a women's mid-career mentoring program (i gotta brag that i was told my application was "one of the most highly-rated"). my mentor is younger, which i don't care about because she has more experience in the policy field. but i feel like i am in such a dirty space mentally that i might just treat her like a therapist...i can be super open and vulnerable in 1-on-1 conversations with anyone. i have to be careful about not letting those floodgates open.
i love that we have so much in common, though. she is also a Mexican woman who strongly identifies as that but doesn't speak Spanish and feels shame for it because of external influences. we have similar upbringings and we're both really personable and open with one another. if anything, i hope i gain a friend out of it. |
