Have you done any research whatsoever? Our energy problem isn’t due to a shortage, it’s due to deregulation by ERCOT.

Whatsoever? Yeah, I once had to do a school project about dolphins.

Did you ever see that thing Miles Davis said about how he likes to play with a mute because he feels he can get it to sound like a voice? If I'm hearing him correctly, he adds, "Sometimes, I can get it to sound like I have a voice."

I tried to cue it up for you, but it's at 4:17 through to about 4:36 if that effort somehow falls through.

my grandfather turned 103. He saw the beginning of commercial passenger aviation. Is he currently seeing the beginning of the end?

Maybe, if you're talking about the earth becoming uninhabitable. But we first have to go through a period of global fascism, genocide and pogroms. Then hopefully he'll get to see the end.

My suggestion is make sure he's living on high ground

vixnix 03-06-2021 06:13 AM

Sorry, my post was horribly, horribly phrased...I mean to ask if he might be seeing the end of the golden age of travel with cheap airfares, etc.

But I do agree with your points about the end of the world

My mom has shingles...which I guess not much can be done about besides treating symptoms and making sure it doesn't cross into dangerous territory. This sucks, it looks awful and she had a shingles vaccine 7 years ago. Hope these Covid shots work better than that! She actually thinks the trauma of the Covid vaccine set it off, but it doesn't really matter at this point. :(

I find myself always looking for new foundation as I feel like my skin is constantly in flux. In my later teens and earlier twenties, I found my skin impossibly oily. Now I’m definitely more combo-normal, and leaning dry in the winter. This new Urban Decay launch really intrigued me as they were marketing it to all skin types. With winter in full force, I thought I’d give it a try!

I’ll start with packaging! I actually really like the squeeze tube. That metallic gold and strong aquamarine is super appealing to the eyes. The cap twists off to reveal a small opening. I was a bit surprised by the size. It seems like more a concealer opening than foundation. But honestly, not a huge deal.

smashingjj 03-08-2021 07:46 PM

Which soon escalated to the old crying hysterically/laughing maniacally routine. And having a shower while crying, clothes on of course. Old habits, man.

smashingjj 03-08-2021 07:50 PM

The person who was kind enough to give head now didn't exactly know what to do.

I could google this to check but isn’t the shingles shot supposed to be a yearly thing like the flu shot?

Anyway hope she’s feeling ok. Shingles sounds very not fun.

Disco King 03-13-2021 05:49 PM

I just Googled it

buzzard 03-18-2021 10:40 PM

So too did I when curiosity as to how a herpes cousin earned the same name as a roofing component got the better of me.

"A punitive strap such as a belt" was the standout sentence in the etymology section.

vixnix 03-19-2021 05:36 AM

My Dad had shingles. He told me it was one of a handful of times in his life, where he just wanted to die. Not good!

I only heard of it from the title of the film for which SP famously participated in the soundtrack with their song 'Drown'

No, it is a set of 2 shots, but the one she received 7 years ago is now outdated, and of course none of her physicians ever mentioned an updated version. She'll have to get this new one 6 months after the infection is fully suppressed again. She's doing better now but it's still painful. Two full weeks of being bedridden so I'm glad she's at least moving again. I had to convince her over many days of arguing to go get it seen, which finally happened at 10 PM on a weekend ER trip 2 weeks ago, and at that point the antivirals were totally useless. Definitely not something I want. I'm not sure if the Varicella vaccine both me and my daughter have provided any protection, but it's been okay so far and she's probably not very contagious anymore. The scary thing is that post-infection neuropathy can linger for an indefinite amount of time so she's already convinced herself she'll never feel normal again. Oy.
