I'm fairly certain that these were a Starseed project. I can't remember. All I know is that I'd never heard rips better than these ones before.

Bobbin TB 10-15-2007 11:28 AM

heres what i got so far:

Apathys last kiss
The beginning is the end is the beginning
Bullt train to Osaka
Bye june
Christmastime
Czarina
Daughter
Death from above
Drown
The end is the beginning is the end
The ethers tragic
Glynis
The guns of love disastrous
Honeyspider
Honeyspider ii
Hope
Infinite sadness
My dahlia
Not worth asking
Once in a while
Purr snickety
Siamese dream
Slunk
Smiley
Speed kills
Stellar
Summer
Sun
Zeitgeist
Dancing in the moonlight
Never let me down
Sad peter pan
Star spangled banner
Terrapin

Not sure to add:

Isolation (technically a side project)
If you want my love (technically a side project)
mandocello (technically a side project)
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (just live)
Daydream (just a live version but still a b-side)
Mayonnaise (from still becoming apart. also on MP)

MisterSquishyHalo 10-15-2007 11:50 AM

What about the songs from the new stuff? QAOS/Adore II?

these can be added to "not sure to add/just live":
- rocket (onxrt)
- spaceboy (nme brat pack - cassette)
- bullet (launch)
- age of i (live x)

and what are mandocello and if you want my love? i don't think i know those.

i don't think that belongs on this compilation. if i'm not mistaken, this compilation tries to include official releases that aren't on any of the main releases (the albums, pisces, tafh, rotten apples, judas o).

http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/d...?discog_id=117

althought from the description i dont think it sounds like it qualifies. i thought it was a live cover but i guess they are just in the band.

and thats why im not sure to include mayonaise because its on MP and i dont know if i really want to include live versions of the songs. but then i really think daydream should be included.

Cool As Ice Cream 10-15-2007 12:18 PM

maybe we can add an extra disc with the live songs?
might depend on how nicely the "real" b-sides (not live songs) fill the first disc(s).

right. QAOS and adore demos ii stand on their own.

Slurpee 10-15-2007 12:18 PM

1. Nice work so far, guys.
2. Andrew thanks for the SPVC
3. Related - anyone have starseed's rip of Adore vinyl/mono that they could share?

Thanks.

yea thats what i was thinking. it would only be a few tracks anyway. kind of like a small sampler disc.

Bobbin TB 10-15-2007 12:27 PM

also, i was looking for opinions on tracklisting. i was gonna just put them in chronological order like ultra rare tracks but the more i think about it the more i think it would be better to put them in a more aesthetically pleasing flow of sorts. as if it were PI or Judas O. also i think a cool name (possibly in the tradition of PI or Judas O) would be merited.

Cool As Ice Cream 10-15-2007 12:30 PM

Negro Mac Black Cock?

Does anyone happen to have a list of all the demos/covers that are outthere to find?

why would you throw demos and covers together? you're making things more complicated than they should be.

as for demos, the list is long. i wouldn't make a list of songs, but rather of demo tapes, etc. (some overlap, and it's not a complete list either)
- smashing pumpkins
- moon
- reel time studios
- reel time studios (acoustic session)
- qaos
- billy's gravity demos i
- 666
- mcis demos i
- mcis demos ii
- mcis demos iii
- adore demos
- adore b-sides
- machina acoustic demos
- faeomm
+ some stuff like i fall or some demos off mashed potatoes

T&T 10-15-2007 05:42 PM

why has no "eye demo" ever surfaced?

reprise85 10-15-2007 08:03 PM

isn't there a demo of Tear still out there to go along with the Eye demo (both were submitted as possibilities for the lost highway soundtrack, if I remember correctly)? I would love to hear both of these if they ever leak.

Bobbin TB 10-16-2007 06:35 PM

ok so ive compiled a list of tracks to inculde which totals to about 42 songs, 14 tracks on 3 cds.

yoshinobu's revenge 10-16-2007 09:14 PM

are you going to post the list?

1. does it exist? (dunno.)
2. if it exists, do you think it will have any other tracks than already available on the other demo tapes, such as moon, the 5-track sampler, and others? (i don't think so.)

IWishIWasBlank 10-17-2007 09:42 AM

I'm impressed with myself today. The only one I don't have is 666, and that's cuz the only copy I've found/pursued is the shitty one on RSPAA.

eventually. i have the list of what songs to include. just havent finished the tracklisting order. some songs (like christmastime) kind of make it hard to flow very well.

MisterSquishyHalo 10-17-2007 01:57 PM

Track order is very important :)

T&T 10-17-2007 02:11 PM

christmastime is never gonna fit nicely in any trackorder...

CrabbMan 10-17-2007 04:36 PM

Hey, with respect to the SPVC, for the tracks that are also released on CD (say La Dolly Vita for example) are they any different in this rip, other than maybe sounding like they are ripped from a record?

no theyre no different. just pressed on an lp instead of a cd.

CrabbMan 10-17-2007 06:44 PM

hehe, just finding that out now. . . oh well, bit of bandwidth wasted.

what's the matter. . . . what's the difference?
what's the question?!?

CrabbMan 10-17-2007 06:49 PM

oh, but I had forgotten, this Tristessa is the single version, how exciting! Nice, save me from having to buy a turntable to listen to my own copy.
