My votes gotta be for Inspector gadget. Just great music throughout. Really helped propel the show to great heights

Now that's a jam. A roller coaster of sounds packed into a minute and a half punch

I've always thought that this was a melodic masterpiece as well

That infectious falsetto

Overall soundtrack I'd probably have to vote for Macross Plus.

But theme song well..its all about nostalgia for me. I'd probably say Les Mysterieuses cite d'or which is THE cartoon series for people of my generation in the French speaking world. Probably sounds like hippie crap for anyone else but I tear up every time I watch this pretty much. It was set in the 1600's in south America, conquistadors era and stuff and aliens eventually ..cause of course they helped the incas build their pyramids:

Though maybe objectively the catchiest theme song was probably Ducktales. Also, Fraggle Rock. I don't think they need links. I actually watched Fraggle Rock for a while two years back cause it was on some channel. I enjoyed it even as an adult and...my god I grew up to be just the fuck like Boober.

Ok I may have lied THIS might be the most popular cartoon theme of my generation in the French speaking world but unlike most cartoons we got, this wasn't a French Japanese co-production but just a translation of a japanese show. Grandizer it's called normally. But Goldorak in French. Theme is so spectacularly 70s.

I was bummed when I learned in English both Smurfs and Inspector gadget have no lyrics. Well except for "inspector gadget" and "lalala smurf lala"

this is French smurfs theme
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/59zmGfMXwIs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

there was actually three French intros one of which was a different tune altogether and another one which was that tune but with different lyrics

and this is Inspecteur gadget:

The french Smurf theme song sounds cool but I'm definitely not digging the Gadget one. The angry sounding guy-singing just ruins the whole vibe!

How about that Carebear theme song? Show's kinda lame in hindsight but fuck if that song hasn't aged awesomely. As catchy and infectious as ever. Just makes me wanna bust a move
