View Full Version : NFL/Fantasy Football 2014-15 and Future World Cup Sites Thread
Andy / 06-03-2014, 02:10 PM yahoo sent out the reminder for fantasy league sign ups, so i renewed already. if you played in the netphoria league last year you should have an invite in your email's inbox. as we get closer to the start of the season, if we have anyone not re-up or drop, i'll ask for others here.
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 02:12 PM Crimson Dynamo rides again. This is pretty far ahead of things innit
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 02:13 PM i mean the NBA finals aren't even over yet let alone the Major League Boring All Stander team
Andy / 06-03-2014, 02:13 PM it is. i figured i'd do it while the email was in front of me.
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 02:14 PM i mean maybe you're like me and you wish you could just hibernate between the end of the NBA finals and the kickoff for the NFL season except when the World Cup is being held
sppunk 06-03-2014, 03:18 PM Who will get the 2022 WC? America I'd think has a good shot since no stadiums need to be built and the timeline will be crunched more than normal.
Fuck you FIFA.
Oh I'm in.
hnibos 06-03-2014, 06:45 PM I think Qatar will get it and it will be in the winter.
sppunk 06-03-2014, 06:58 PM FIFA has essentially said they are reopening bids. Qatar's bribery being exposed is the icing on their shit sundae I'd guess.
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 07:07 PM it should have been the United States in the first place so i also agree
mexico might also be a choice, they have hosted a relocated cup before
basically i think it'll be in the US or Mexico mostly because any other place in asia is too underdeveloped in terms of footballing for them to fuck with. china is not a football place, neither is india, or indonesia. seriously what are the asian footballing powerhouses? Japan & South Korea mostly because they reorganized and hosted a cup. Australia is an outside shot but eh...it's a great country for olympics but i have doubts they have the infastructure and facilities to host a national tournament like the world cup is.
I mean...where else would they put it? europe's out. South america is out. they should avoid going with another host like Russia (e.g. China) so pretty much that leaves mexico and america
by 2022 the US will be even better at soccer and another WC will only bolster the popularity
hnibos 06-03-2014, 07:08 PM It'll probably be Canada or some shit.
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 07:14 PM i can see somewhere like england, spain, or france making a good pitch though
especially england, it's facilities are redonkulous and spread throughout the country and they just had a great big fancy stadium built for the last olympics
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 07:15 PM It'll probably be Canada or some shit.
canada sucks as a footballing country as well. they don't even have top division football, they have the 3 teams in the MLS
sppunk 06-03-2014, 07:35 PM it should have been the United States in the first place so i also agree
mexico might also be a choice, they have hosted a relocated cup before

2018 is in Russia so yeah that hurts that area of Europe and Asia I think.
It's interesting because many countries are realizing this stiff (WC, Olympcs) is a drain they can't afford. The IOC is having serious issues with countries canceling bids. People might finally be understanding building a stadium is not an economic lift at all.
England would be an easy host too, you're right. I see US over Mexico but it's not a bad idea either.
hnibos 06-03-2014, 07:53 PM canada sucks as a footballing country as well. they don't even have top division football, they have the 3 teams in the MLS
So did the US in 94. Don't think there was even a professional league then.
Ol' Couch Ass 06-03-2014, 09:26 PM I'm in.
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 09:40 PM 2018 is in Russia so yeah that hurts that area of Europe and Asia I think.
I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT QATAR IS IN FUCKING ASIA
Trotskilicious 06-03-2014, 09:41 PM So did the US in 94. Don't think there was even a professional league then.
okay
lets ask ourselves some questions about the respective economies and populations of the united states and canadia
I'm Hardcore 06-03-2014, 10:06 PM am i allowed to play this year
hnibos 06-03-2014, 10:27 PM okay
lets ask ourselves some questions about the respective economies and populations of the united states and canadia
I don't know why FIFA would be overly concerned about that considering people from all over the world will attend the world cup.
Public transportation, stadiums, and safety should top the list but then again, Brazil, then Russia, then fucking Qatar
sppunk 06-03-2014, 10:38 PM I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT QATAR IS IN FUCKING ASIA
Right, awarding a back to back bod a second time would be odd. But this is the most corrupt body in the world so maybe Afghanistan can host it.
sppunk 06-03-2014, 10:44 PM Also I just realized I'm out of the country from like Sept 2 to Sept 19 w/ no solid internet access so I'd miss several lineup weeks. I'll let someone else take my spot so I'm not just wasting spots for weeks. Blah.
duovamp 06-03-2014, 10:53 PM DIBS.
hnibos 06-03-2014, 10:56 PM No fags allowed, sorry
duovamp 06-03-2014, 11:01 PM FUCK.
I'm Hardcore 06-03-2014, 11:07 PM counts me out too
Andy / 08-15-2014, 09:06 PM so far spplooge, hnibos and meandmyllama have not signed up. i just saw spplooges post about being out, so we can have that spot open, and can invite duovamp. duo, pm me the email address you want an invite to. i assume hnibos will be signing up at some point. i'm hardcore is next on the list should meandmyllama not want to join again.
draft is currently set for tuesday, sept. 2 at 8:30 central time.
Trotskilicious 08-15-2014, 09:59 PM What about the figs that fucked up our past leaugueueueaeages
duovamp 08-15-2014, 10:12 PM Under new management, Free Press Commies have moved to the city of Pittsburgh and have adopted a new name.
Trotskilicious 08-16-2014, 08:05 PM The state press libertarians
jczeroman 08-17-2014, 03:28 PM Has anyone here watched The League. Despite the fact that much of the comedy is based on tribalism, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
TuralyonW3 08-17-2014, 03:56 PM Has anyone here watched The League. Despite the fact that much of the comedy is based on tribalism, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
Yeah it's pretty damn funny.
duovamp 08-17-2014, 05:07 PM A few episodes but mostly clips on the internet, which have been hilarious. But I'm pretty immature. To say the least.
Andy / 08-29-2014, 12:49 PM meandmyllama hasn't signed up yet, and i'm hardcore hasn't been on here since mid-july. anyone here talk to i'm hardcore regularly/recently and want to see if he's interested in playing?
Andy / 08-31-2014, 02:57 PM draft is tuesday. we need one more player. you sure you don't want to play, chris? otherwise, anyone want to join?
sppunk 08-31-2014, 03:33 PM We leave Tues am and won't be back until Sept 16. Not fair to play and miss all that IMO.
noyen 08-31-2014, 10:50 PM i would jump in but i am doing it for the first time this year (i did it during the playoff season last year) so i am a virgin to even doing a draft. 10 people doing a manual, snake draft on tuesday and i'm number 2. i am nervous as shit. next year or during playoffs i'd be down to join another fantasy league.
sppunk 08-31-2014, 11:45 PM i would jump in but i am doing it for the first time this year (i did it during the playoff season last year) so i am a virgin to even doing a draft. 10 people doing a manual, snake draft on tuesday and i'm number 2. i am nervous as shit. next year or during playoffs i'd be down to join another fantasy league.
You should join this league, it's no pressure and a good easy no stress way to learn the fantasy football world.
Trotskilicious 09-01-2014, 02:38 AM i completely dominate all of it though obvs
Ol' Couch Ass 09-01-2014, 03:43 AM Couldn't find a swap so I'll be drafting from work- fuck.
Andy / 09-01-2014, 06:32 PM alright, we're set, as meandmyllama finally signed up. draft tomorrow at 8:30 cst.
duovamp 09-02-2014, 10:36 AM Aaaaand there's no such team as the Spungos. Also these seem to be printed on some sort of Graham cracker....
jczeroman 09-02-2014, 08:51 PM Holy crap. I almost forgot about the draft. Slipping.
duovamp 09-03-2014, 08:02 AM Despite being hopped up on Molly and burning a fat j with my bro LeGarrette, I got a draft grade B. Gonna punish Zuzu's Outhouse.
noyen 09-04-2014, 12:53 AM I'd love to be part of the next ffl you do Mr slash. I had a blast doing a manual snake draft. More fun than I thought. An online electronic one sounds fun. I will probably suck this season but good practice I guess. Excited for tomorrow's game.
Andy / 09-04-2014, 12:30 PM word.
Eulogy 09-04-2014, 10:40 PM Woo Packers suckkkk
duovamp 09-05-2014, 11:17 AM Yeah they do. That D is turrible. Best part is I drafted Cutler.
duovamp 09-07-2014, 09:08 PM Starting Ray Rizzle aside, geeeeeet fucking rekt, kids.
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 12:05 AM hooooldiiin my diiiiick
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 02:43 AM i was also thinking it would be nice if standard FF league was 3WR/1RB/1FLEX
Sepiae 09-08-2014, 01:49 PM that time i thought i dropped ray rice and hadn't.
also that time the fucking autodraft gave the only fucking woman in the league ray fucking rice.
Andy / 09-08-2014, 02:50 PM ray rice gets cut in fantasy before he gets cut in real life. the nfl, everyone.
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 04:54 PM at least justice finally happened. took actual video i guess.
oh i thought he hit her softer than that was the leagues response to this
good on the ravens for realizing they need to deal with it in house rather than waiting for the league to do something
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 04:55 PM TMZ has been really winning at sports lately, real social justice warriors.
duovamp 09-08-2014, 05:36 PM Why the fuck did it take this long for the video though?
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 05:49 PM because the nfl and the ravens were trying to cover it up
Tchocky 09-08-2014, 05:58 PM Dude should get a lifetime ban for this atrocity. Goodell also needs to go for that joke of a suspension he initially handed down. 2 games? 2 fucking games?! Fuck you, Roger.
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 06:38 PM this is a pretty disastrous turn of events for them
duovamp 09-08-2014, 06:45 PM Hoping Roger quits over this shit. The NFL is shit and he let it rot for no good reason.
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 06:53 PM i dunno about that
i think tagliabue was covering this shit up, it's weird how suddenly when commissioner bigfoot started suspending people for crimes and misdemenors that this shit skyrocketed
i think it also is incubated at the college level, there's absolutely no accountability there so they recruit people based on football skills, never actually teach them or discipline them for anything if they are, like ray rice, really good at playing football. plus, this is a sport that rewards violence. period. end of the story.
i mean just remember ray rice and kenny britt came out of greg schiano's rutgers teams. the miraculous worst to first football story.
MyOneAndOnly 09-08-2014, 08:42 PM http://img.wonkette.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/battered-women-tee-shirt-366x274.jpg
duovamp 09-08-2014, 08:50 PM I'm so furious that the NFL didn't give a shit until this video popped up. Like wtf did you think happened in that elevator, Roger? She knocked herself out? Same for the Ravens - oh now that we can SEE one human being brutalizing another, NOW we give a shit? It's an abhorrent failure, and Roger Goodell basically ignored it, as did Harbaugh, who could've broken his knees with how quickly he dropped to them to start fellating Rice.
Should've happened sooner. Much sooner. The video didn't change a damn thing, other than demonstrating what he did that night.
Also college is pretty different in that a lot of those kids, and they are just kids, aren't even old enough to drink yet. They're over 18, but they still live on campus, don't have full time jobs... So on one hand I think it's wonderful they're giving people the opportunity to make themselves into millionaires. On the other, they're horrendously overpaid for the value they actually add to society. But that's the market and I can't complain about that. And I think a lot of them do learn discipline, between practice and workouts... but the extra step would be actually making them learn. Making these people go to class, REAL classes, balance work and play, and be more than a football player. But that's a whole other thread.
Trotskilicious 09-08-2014, 09:51 PM Well its impossile with the current model
Tchocky 09-08-2014, 10:10 PM Lions looked solid today. Still need to cut down on the dumb penalties and get a little more out of their ground game, but their pass offense and defense looked pretty sharp.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 06:39 AM Lions fans are the absolute worst, though.
Trotskilicious 09-09-2014, 06:44 AM eagles fans every day of the week
duovamp 09-09-2014, 07:49 AM Yeah Phillie everything is insufferable.
9er fans are bad, Packers fans are bad, Raider fans are terrible, Steeler fans are bad, Patriots fans are bad.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 09:16 AM The Pack is OK. At least they have a solid socialist tradition of winning in Green Bay. What's insufferable about Lions fans is that despite a generation of miserable team management and even after setting a record for the worst season in NFL history, they think that "next year" the Lions might go all the way! It's Pie in the Sky when you die, thanks to Bill Ford.
In Michigan they also seem to draw from the same pool of low IQ mouth breathers that support MSU for college football. Way too much overlap to be a coincidence.
Eulogy 09-09-2014, 09:43 AM Right because michigan fans are any better.
In my experience they're significantly worse. Fuck Michigan.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 01:28 PM State fans are like lions fans because they know they're supporting a second rate program. They have a huge chip on their shoulders about it too. Not unlike people from Columbus, OH. Except that Ohio is actually a pretty good university.
MSU is a shitty college with average students and nothing going for it except a world class veterinary hospital. When it comes down to it the only thing the fans of MSU have to be proud of is a feeder program for the NBA and an occasionally good football team.
Who in the fuck would want to be a "fan" of that?
duovamp 09-09-2014, 02:21 PM You can't pick who you like based on the fans though. Unless you're the Raiders, the fans aren't really anything you have a say in. You just have to like the team you like. It'd be like choosing to dislike a band because of their fans. Limp Bizkit aside, a band like Radiohead can't control how snooty its fans are.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 03:03 PM Spoken like a casual fan
Eulogy 09-09-2014, 03:25 PM State fans are like lions fans because they know they're supporting a second rate program.
They won the rose bowl last year? Michigan fans are more delusional than Notre Dame fans. The program is in the toilet and no one wants to admit it. They've lost 5 of 6 to MSU and 11 out of 13 to OSU.
And it's a large public university. "Shitty college."
Shut the fuck up Scotty.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 04:20 PM I'm talking about the quality of the university. Not just whether their football team won more games last year. Its not just about the one athletic team.
Part of being a fan of a college program is being a fan of the school, not just the football team. Within the big ten MSU isn't in the same league when it comes to academic quality as Universities like Michigan or Northwestern.
Eulogy 09-09-2014, 04:23 PM Oh good lord
Let's just all root for Princeton then. Shut up Scotty.
Eulogy 09-09-2014, 04:26 PM What kind of obnoxious person brings up academic prestige in a discussion about athletics. Nonsense.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 04:32 PM If being a fan of a college was just about the football program Florida State fans would have bragging rights. But just like MSU FSU ranks higher on the list of schools worth partying at than graduating from.
Eulogy 09-09-2014, 04:34 PM Well
Thank you for demonstrating the delusion of the average Michigan fan.
MyOneAndOnly 09-09-2014, 04:43 PM I'm not a fan. I'm an alum. I honestly don't care what the football team's record is this year.
Trotskilicious 09-10-2014, 12:48 AM Well
Thank you for demonstrating the delusion of the average Michigan fan.
seriously what's up with that? It's like texas fans to be honest. it's been constant like every new QB and RB is the most incredible talent that has ever existed and every year they suck a bunch of ass and everyone's surprised
it seems only college football suffers from this. all the giants fans on Big Blue View are like "welp we're totally gonna suck this year" even before monday
Trotskilicious 09-10-2014, 12:56 AM the only thing the fans of MSU have to be proud of is a feeder program for the NBA
while consistently dominant on the college level, MSU has struggled to produce NBA talent since 2000. Zach Randolph is the only real star player to come out of MSU in that time. Jason Richardson had a few seasons where he would have qualified as a star, but he was all athleticism so when he got hurt it was over. Only three other guys I'd not as decent role players and one of them is only a 3 yr vet. I will say that Adiren Payne and Gary Harris look like they could reverse this trend, but the hey days of the 80s and 90s with Magic, scott skiles, steve smith, kevin willis etc are over.
Trotskilicious 09-10-2014, 12:57 AM actually now looking at j rich's stats i'll give him a half star, not as good as Z-Bo though
Tchocky 09-10-2014, 01:16 AM The Pack is OK.
#ChicagoCubs
Trotskilicious 09-10-2014, 01:16 AM i'm sorry i thought the chicago cubs fan base liked rooting for a loser and never expected anything out of them
Eulogy 09-10-2014, 06:39 AM In my experience, ND fans are generally realistic until something good happens (like say a 31-0 throttling of Michigan), at which point everyone gets the idea that they can beat Florida State.
I may be a little guilty of this (but shit, goddamn ESPN has Golson fifth in the heisman race now).
I think even most Texas fans knew this year and probably the next year or two were going to be rough. Not 41-7 against BYU rough, but rough.
I guess this conversation should be in the other thread. I blame Scotty.
duovamp 09-10-2014, 07:46 AM i'm sorry i thought the chicago cubs fan base liked rooting for a loser and never expected anything out of them
#Clevelandproblems
Trotskilicious 09-10-2014, 05:00 PM Nah before the year starts texas fans believe they are contenders, every year.
duovamp 09-10-2014, 06:36 PM They're going to the Bowl this year. Probably.
Trotskilicious 09-11-2014, 12:34 AM by the way if you haven't yet get hip to PFT Commenter #strongtakes,, if you don't like it theirs the door
Trotskilicious 09-12-2014, 06:44 PM Oh my god u guys what the fuck happen in sprots this week
Tchocky 09-12-2014, 07:11 PM #FireGoodell
Tchocky 09-12-2014, 07:22 PM Adrian Peterson just got nabbed for beating his kid. There goes the Vikings season.
Also, the NFL is imploding.
Trotskilicious 09-12-2014, 10:22 PM James brown owned thurs btw
killtrocity 09-12-2014, 10:32 PM What the hell is a "switch"? A stick? A belt? A device for whooping naughty boys?
Trotskilicious 09-12-2014, 10:34 PM God damn white bread...
A switck is usuallt a thin branch or strip of wood used as a whip to "discipline" childrens
duovamp 09-12-2014, 11:28 PM My Grammie had a switch. It was a thin branch more or less from a tree. Basically a little whip. My sister got it a few times. Shit was scary.
duovamp 09-12-2014, 11:28 PM Also fuuuuuuuuck there goes my season.
Trotskilicious 09-13-2014, 12:34 AM i got your handcuff, sugar
hnibos 09-13-2014, 10:40 AM I used to get the belt pretty often because I was whiny and my dad was always angry/stressed.
Tchocky 09-14-2014, 04:36 PM There are the Lions I know and loathe! Gotta love missed opportunities, poorly-timed turnovers, and to top it off, a kicker who sucks.
duovamp 09-14-2014, 05:14 PM Does Green Bay even D bro?
duovamp 09-14-2014, 05:15 PM Also fuck Detroit for not hitting Megatron for a TD.
Tchocky 09-14-2014, 05:39 PM Also fuck Detroit for not hitting Megatron for a TD.
Also, fuck Detroit for giving my fantasy football opponent 14 points for Carolina's D.
I have New England's DEF, Sammy Watkins and Mark Ingram all on my bench this week. That's a lot of fantasy point left on the sidelines this week. :(
Ol' Couch Ass 09-14-2014, 05:43 PM All of my teams lie in rubble at this point.
duovamp 09-14-2014, 06:32 PM As long at Rodgers bangs out passes to Cobb I'll go home a wealthy man tonight.
Trotskilicious 09-14-2014, 08:39 PM big santorum rivers is gonna torch the league again
better than eli manning
Trotskilicious 09-14-2014, 08:39 PM also i beat you dorks to knile davis
I'm Hardcore 09-14-2014, 11:25 PM does anyone remember when i took the time to point out that Kaepernick's passing game is average?
I'm Hardcore 09-14-2014, 11:25 PM and does anyone remember when people such as Eulogy and Banana called me a casual football fan
I'm Hardcore 09-14-2014, 11:26 PM because this is fucking funny
duovamp 09-14-2014, 11:55 PM Then his contract deal happened and it was more or less a sure thing. But that takes away from how balls on fire that Chicago D was.
I'm Hardcore 09-14-2014, 11:57 PM the same D that lost to the Bills last week, mind you
Trotskilicious 09-15-2014, 02:08 AM does anyone remember when i took the time to point out that Kaepernick's passing game is average?
remember when i totally agreed with you
Trotskilicious 09-15-2014, 02:09 AM see the thing is...do you watch espn? because eulogy and banana do
and I do not
kaperbro is a GOD on ESPN
Trotskilicious 09-15-2014, 02:10 AM the same D that lost to the Bills last week, mind you
bills d is emerging as the underdog defense this year there's always a couple
duovamp 09-15-2014, 08:02 AM Yeah they laid a hurt on Miami.
duovamp 09-15-2014, 08:42 AM Which fucked my butt in a money league THAT I DID NOT WANT TO JOIN BUT VANESSA'S FRIEND INVITED ME AND I WANTED TO BE POLITE SO I SHELLED OUT MONEY which goes against the words my father told me at a young age: Never bet on sports.
Also the commissioner had a non-snake draft, which is fucking bullshit, and he stuck me in at 8th pick because "HURR DURR DATS WER THE GUY WHO LEFT WAS GOING TO PICK" rather than fucking make me draft at least sixth out of 12. But no, after he got my fucking buy-in he fucks me with 8/12. Meaning I drafted 8th, then 20th. Fucking fuck fuck fuck.
And why the fuck would you shell out money for Fantasy Football to begin with? Vanessa sounds hot
Eulogy 09-15-2014, 10:14 AM I do not watch ESPN. One bad game does not a career make.
hnibos 09-15-2014, 11:17 AM go pats
duovamp 09-15-2014, 11:18 AM And why the fuck would you shell out money for Fantasy Football to begin with? Vanessa sounds hot
BECAUSE IM AN IDIOT. YOU HAPPY?!
Yeah, she's super hot. $40.00 to join. $10 bucks each week goes to the highest scoring team. Then at the end the person who finished 3rd in the playoffs gets 40, second gets like 80, Super Bowl winner gets 200. Something like that.
hnibos 09-15-2014, 11:21 AM But you make it rain on a daily basis so nbd right?
duovamp 09-15-2014, 11:25 AM :(
duovamp 09-15-2014, 11:26 AM The whole problem is it's basically the people who got lucky draft positions always get the best picks because it doesn't snake. So they get everybody's money. Fucking stupid system.
Trotskilicious 09-15-2014, 06:57 PM do they have a waver wire shark like me in that league if not you GET ON THAT SHIT HOMIE
Trotskilicious 09-15-2014, 06:58 PM i draft bad all the time, i never know what's going on but once the injury reports start rollin in...
also if your QB is not like START EVERY WEEK ALWAYS then get one or 2 more and rotate them dudes when they play bad dees, also rotate dees when they play bad offenses like the raiders lol
duovamp 09-15-2014, 07:31 PM I'm basically riding the free agency from week to week hoping to scrounge up the best of the turds nobody ever heard of. :(

Dogfighter28 09-19-2014, 07:50 AM How bout them bucs
duovamp 09-19-2014, 08:14 AM At 56-0 I started hoping Tampa Bay would turn it around. Didn't want the record largest margin of victory to get beaten.
Ol' Couch Ass 09-19-2014, 07:40 PM I had to work last night and had to DVR the game. It's embarrassing now because everyone at work knew I wanted no spoilers but there were tons of dudes who play FF who were tracking the score. The whole night, they were able to pokerface. I didn't ask, they didn't let on. At the end of the night, I happily left 15 minutes early at 0645 to watch the game. The shame and embarrassment I felt while alone in my living room is like nothing I've ever experienced. Then, I realized how hard everyone at work must've laughed as I skipped out the door. It was confirmed. Bring back Schiano- at least one of our safeties would have tried to decapitate someone once the game got out of hand
hnibos 09-28-2014, 04:20 PM lol at the steelers.
Tchocky 09-28-2014, 04:27 PM After this week, I think I'm gonna go with Andrew Luck as my starter over Drew Brees. Two straight 40+ points weeks in a row? Ballin'.

Trotskilicious 10-07-2014, 11:18 PM All the nerds at dnd nite love your team name duo
I'm leading my league, and I don't even know why after 4-1-0 games.
Well, you won't hear me complaining..
duovamp 10-08-2014, 09:48 AM All the nerds at dnd nite love your team name duo
I've been hanging on by a thread these last couple weeks. I fear the dragon will be slain sooner than later. :(
Trotskilicious 10-08-2014, 10:37 PM i'm as usual eking out wins with my strategy of rotating players and being in the lead for transactions
if only i would learn how to draft
I'm Hardcore 10-08-2014, 11:07 PM Drafting isn't as important as the waiver wire. Look at Adrian Peterson
yeah because you find consistent 100 yard runners on the waiver wire right?
Trotskilicious 10-08-2014, 11:25 PM people who make lots of transactions don't often win leagues, i have before but it's mad scramble time
lots of consistent winners make few moves
obviously you have to keep up with injuries, suspensions, bye weeks
duovamp 10-09-2014, 08:24 AM Plus the player's opponent greatly affects play. A WR2 against the Seahawks isn't going to get numbers like a WR3 against the Eagles or Jax. So you have to make moves to maximize production.
Also fuck Magatroll. He's ruining me almost as badly as Ray Rizzle did last year. Almost.
Trotskilicious 10-09-2014, 06:07 PM I banked on foles and mccoy in another league
As a giants fan i should know better than to buy into philly eagles hype primarily driven by espn
duovamp 10-09-2014, 09:09 PM I really liked Folesy going into the season. My draft plan was hope Cutler's going to have a freakishly good year after he regresses from last year, grab him super late, and be able to grab RBs/WRs in the early rounds knowing Cutler should be available by the 6th or 7th round.
Eli's season is starting to turn around nicely.
duovamp 10-09-2014, 09:13 PM Carolina defense second round, baby.
Trotskilicious 10-09-2014, 09:21 PM Look ive been a g men fan for most of my life

It's hard to believe he's as old as he is. In my mind he's like 25 still.
Trotskilicious 10-09-2014, 09:48 PM LEBRON IS ALMOST 30!!!
duovamp 10-09-2014, 10:58 PM Now I'm not saying professor Farnsworth is old, but if you consider his age he's likely to die soon.
duovamp 10-09-2014, 10:59 PM Sidney Crosby's getting fucking ancient too. FFS.
I'm Hardcore 10-10-2014, 12:08 AM yep, they're called rookies that nobody drafted. happens every year
most rookies who are top-20 rb's usually get drafted reasonably early. Zac Stacy was really the only exception to that rule last season, if i recall.
Trotskilicious 10-10-2014, 04:11 AM Sidney Crosby's getting fucking ancient too. FFS.
oh yeah and this next draft is supposed to be all retarded good, right?
they say that about the most recent nba draft, but remains to be seen. usually when everyone's "YOU CAN'T MISS ON THESE GUYS" one of them is a total fuckin Darko as i like to call em
Trotskilicious 10-10-2014, 04:11 AM i actually don't because of racial implications of saying a bad black player was a Darko, even if it term is a reference to a particular player who was croatian or something
duovamp 10-14-2014, 08:59 AM Call this an unfair judgment if you must but Eli is such a fucking bastard son of the Manning family I believe his father was a monkey or chimpanzee of some sort. No offense to Mrs. Manning.
Trotskilicious 10-14-2014, 05:15 PM Hes an idiot savant ive said so for years

duovamp 10-15-2014, 07:41 AM :o Yeah the Rams are a pretty tough team.
I'm Hardcore 10-15-2014, 02:15 PM what has happened to that D line? it's awful. I know they're missing Chris Long, but Ogletree and Laurinitis need to step the f up.

"They didn't do anything special to me," Hill continued. "I mean, respect to them, they won the game. But that's all I'll give them."

Ol' Couch Ass 11-10-2014, 06:46 PM In all fairness, the Bears were terrible in all aspects of the game. I mean, I'm no pro, but if I had to coordinate a defense playing against Aaron Rodgers I'd probably keep two safeties back most of the time. Granted, Rodgers will pick you apart underneath. But, at least they'll score slower. How many times did Rodgers call hot routes at the line just to see guys run right past the CB into unmanned no mans land deep.

I'm Hardcore 11-25-2014, 11:44 PM i've also had Crabtree and Larry Fitzgerald on rotation, ugh
duovamp 11-26-2014, 12:06 AM Its inexplicable
It's because while you fat cats were drafting QBs, I was getting WRs.
Also points per reception makes AB a fucking God in this league. And nobody expected Arian Foster to have even a half decent season with how weird he was in the preseason. He was a huge gamble. Cutler still performs above the average QB, not top 3, but good enough that I planned on scooping Cutler up in the 7th or so round knowing he'd have some decent weapons this year.
Mostly AB has carried me through half the season. My opponents also have had unusually low scoring weeks against me, unlike the Spungos who pretty much got fucked by over performing opponents all season.
duovamp 11-26-2014, 12:07 AM Oh and I had a perfect draft position.
duovamp 11-26-2014, 12:10 AM I remember after that draft sitting back like "Holy fuck this team is insane."

“Nothing is going to be given to you, so I don’t think I should have gave him anything. … I made him better if anything.
“I wasn’t teaching any lessons, but when you play a competitive game, you’ve got to expect to be competitive.”

Elphenor 12-15-2014, 11:38 PM
Elphenor 12-15-2014, 11:46 PM Surprise onside kick is literally the biggest dick move in Madden
Tchocky 12-16-2014, 12:07 AM The Lions have to be the worst 10-4 team in the history of football. They've survived this season by luck and a super-weak schedule. Their offense is listless. Part of that is due to injuries on the offensive line, but part of it is play-calling (Joe Lombardi is a horrible, predictable O-coordinator), namely, their insistence on constantly running the ball and throwing screen passes when they are terrible at both. Jim Caldwell is basically Art Shell Jr.
They'll thrash the lifeless Bears next week, get the fan base pumped up because the last game of the season will be the biggest game they've played in over two decades...and then Aaron Rodgers will thump them in Green Bay. They'll get the NFC South winner (I'm predicting it's New Orleans) and will get thumped in the Wild Card round.
In the offseason, they'll lose Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley to free agency, get a tougher schedule, and next season it'll be back to 7-9.
