Let me lose perspective for a moment. I have the best cat in the world.

She has an eye condition that makes me get all up in her eyes and clean them 2x a day, as well as give her drops... and while she doesn't like it, she stays still and doesn't fight. She has never tried to scratch or bite me in any way at any time.

She likes to cuddle.

She makes cute little sounds.

She scratches where she's supposed to scratch.

She always uses the litter box.

She plays a lot which is really cute. :)

She lets me pet her tummy!

Sometimes we play fight. :o

She will sit on my lap or legs if I want her to but doesn't "force" herself on me like some cats do.

She's PERFECT.

yeah I mean he is already doing a lot better than I can ever imagine doing if I suddenly went blind but he's still very stressed out. and keeps getting stuck places like behind the water heater and he fell off of something

that dog vid is so sad and sweet

at the same time though, my cat follows me around the house and would sleep on my bed every night and be with me every chance he had. however, whenever we used to take vacations, a lot of times the cats would basically pretend not to know us when we get back. it'd take a couple days at least for them to start acting normal again. I'd say cats are a lot less tolerant and forgiving of being mistreated

that dog video is amazing

more reasons my kitty is perfect:

Whenever I come home from being out she demands I lay on the bed so she can knead my side/stomach for 5-10 minutes. Even if it's supper time, she wants to say hi first. SHE LOVES ME MORE THAN FOOD. And in the morning she'd knead me for an hour if I let her.

If she's laying in her bed (her bed is on my bed) I can put my arm between her arms and legs (while she is on her side) and place my hand under her cheek and she we will fall asleep with her using my hand as a pillow. If I try to take my arm back she holds onto it as tight as she can with both arms to try and stop me. :)

My cat's mother was feral, and she didn't use a litter box. I had to spend a couple of weeks teaching Mittens how to use it. At first it was hard cause she absolutely didn't care about it and every time we'd put her in to go she'd jump out and try to run somewhere else and try to go there. Then we got to a point where she'd go after we'd put her in... then just as I felt like giving up.... she finally did it on her own. It was like potty training a kid, almost.

We got her when she was too little though... I don't think she was quite done weaning and the owners just wanted to get her out of their house quickly. She's catching up... but at first I was worried about her.

Erica, remember you said that your kitty hid under your bed at first ... it looks like she's very happy now <3

Thanks Starla. Glad to hear Mittens is doing well :)

We definitely had problems at first with her eyes and her being miserable, but yeah we worked it out!

This is why I tend to prefer cats (but I'm a sucker for all animals). When we return though Pixel acts like that dog, except she is 8 pounds and can't jump on us like that. But she meows nonstop, follows us, runs between our feet, for a few days.

She gets distant when she sees luggage out.

yo, where the cat folks at?

my cat destroyed a plant while I was out. I think he's just pissed about the cold. I hope it's not something else.
