i've been a huge SP fan since 1993 (seen them 13 times including the final show), and my opinions have changed so much over time; now that they're over, i have to say this'll be my final list...siamese dream and pisces iscariot might over take gish...maybe

1-3 are so very close together. MCIS is picked because of the vastness of the music on it. Siamese Dream was just completely new and inventive when it came out and still is really. Gish rocked, and rocked hard. Machina 2 has some of THE BEST Pumpkins songs. Adore was very solid, although doesn't have the versatility of other albums. Pisces, well it is very disjointed although it has awesome music. Machina, <sigh>, why Billy, why. We wanted rock, not drama. Concept albums are supposed to have a concept that actually makes sense. Billy should have talked to Pete Townshend before he made Machina.

Siamese Dream used to be #2. I just got tired of it, plain and simple. It seems to me that for some reason I'm always finding new songs that I like on Mellon Collie. Adore is very personal to me and has some of my favorite songs on it (Ava Adore, Blank Page, To Sheila) so it is #1 forever. I can't figure out why I love Machina 1 so much, I just do. Gish rocks. Judas 0 is underrated as are so many of the songs on it (Because You Are, Sparrow, Lucky 13, Soot and Stars). 7-9 are albums that I really like, but just don't love. There really isn't a Pumpkin's album I don't like. I consider myself lucky.

As far As I'm concerned you can either count Judas 0 or Machina as an album, but not both. Same for Judas 0 and TAFH.

I really, really wanted to like Machina, I just can't. It could have been one of the greats with all of the strong Machina era songs like Home, Go, SIYL, This Time, Speed Kills etc. (or in LMGTWTY's case, non-era songs), sharp production on said songs, no story or 'you have to interpret it ___ way' shit. Blargh I'll just make my own mix while wishing some of the songs included on it didn't sound like I was listening to it in a rainstorm.
