Machina II question

didn't someone post here that he (knew someone who) was taking audio engineer classes or something and that his school owned the plates that were used to make the machina II vinyls and that they used them to exercise their mastering skills?

if so, where's that thread? i can't find it. and what happened to this? it sounded very interesting.

and does anyone remember what it was exactly? is it a blueprint to press the vinyls? i have no idea how vinyls are made, so a bit of extra info is welcome.

normal vinyl is pressed between two plates but M2 is different and there aren't any plates becasue it was made in a different way. he didn't say they had pressing plates i'm sure. i thought it was just they had a copy of the vinyl...

iirc the school got the machine that made the vinyls just to make vinyl records with. i think they may have had a copy of the lp also and that was in a glass case. my memory of it is a little hazy though
