Autographed Copy of Blinking With Fists
I just wanted to inform you that I have an ebay auction under way right now (Dec. 27) for the next 3-4 days. The item up for bid is an autographed copy of "Blinking With Fists" that I had signed in October of 2004.
I'm not really a fan anymore and I have never been into autographs so I thought maybe one of you might appreciate this item more then I do. You can go to ebay and do a search under "blinking with fists". So far, my auction is the only autographed copy that comes up. To Kahlo, I completely agree that Billy is just an egotistical prick. However, there are people who still respect him and admire him and if they want a collectable item (which autographs are), then...they can buy it from me.
To Esty, I don't blame you for being an angry, angry person. You listen to this crappy music and have left so many notes and messages on this silly boards that I can only imagine how boring and mundane your life must be. I'm here to offer merchandise. It's a selling technique - and I won't be back after this is done (unless I start selling my Pumpkins bootlegs). At any rate, to anyone who's interested, I lowered the price AGAIN to $50. That is the lowest I will go considering the book itself is $20 and it is autographed. And yes, I have proof that it's Billy's autograph. I took several pictures that day as well. Esty...I'm still not getting it - "go fuck yourself"? All because I'm advertising an autographed book? My my....you must be a jewel to get along with in real life! Secondly, if boxes of air can sell on ebay for over $100, I think I can find a bidder to buy an autographed copy of an musician poetry book. If you don't want it, fine. I don't need to hear your comments. Thirdly, I am hardly a child and don't need to be referred to as "kid". Take care |

No, I am not comparing any possible bidder to an idiot who would purchase a box of air. I'm simply stating that the world is a mighty big place and you never know what someone is willing to buy. Just because no one on here seems interested in purchasing my merchandise doesn't mean that it won't sell.
And I see your point with the autographs being done in "mass production" almost and naturally, anything done in mass production has a low value. However, for whatever reason, some people get a kick out of celebrity autographs and it doesn't matter if this book is good material or not - to someone, somewhere it is worth $50. And I don't feel that I'm charging too much. In fact, I think $50 is too low for what I'm offering. Maybe this won't sell for this price right now, but you never know what the future holds. And, for the record, this is nothing like me offering Mellon Collie in 10 years as a bargain. The entire value of this book lies in the autograph - if it weren't for that, I'd sell the book cheaper the $20. Lastly, you are undoubtedly entitled to your opinion, but please don't ever disrespect me again by labeling me a fool. If you don't think it will sell, then you have your reasons and let that be that. Don't chastise me because you have doubts. Again, someone somewhere wants this item and since it will have more value to them (having Billy's autograph), then I'm all too happy to sell this item to them. |

If no one bids, then I will wait a year (or six months) and try again.
And I will continue to do so until I sell the book for a reasonable price. Even if that doesn't happen until 2011. Or, god forbid, something tragic happen to the poor man...people seem to want pieces of memorabilia once a person has passed away. I don't understand that just as I don't understand the desire for an autograph ever anyway. But...it is what it is. Again, someone somewhere wants this item. |

You're just overestimating the value of a Corgan autograph. If this gets sold for $50 you can consider yourself very lucky.
